Let's protect our environment as Uganda take leads.

*Gulu Climate Action Marathon, 2025 (GUL-CAM 2025)*

DEAR ALL,

This year, on Saturday 27th September, 2025, in Gulu City, *YODRA* is hosting the first ever *Gulu Climate Action Marathon.* This is a youth-led initiative.

Climate Change impacts everyone; rich, poor, old, young, disabled or not disabled. Young people are worst affected! But they also present a great force that can take lead in Climate Action.

The running kits will consist of:
- A vest
- A cap
- A comic book that demonstrates negative consequences of Climate change in our region and ways through which we can mitigate them. This is an awareness tool.

*Benefits of participating in this Marathon:*
1. We will plant 1 million trees in Gulu and other areas in Acholi Sub-region (within the next year) using the proceeds realised from the sale of the Marathon kits.
2. We will support youth-led Climate Innovations initiatives. We would like to see more young people from Acholi Sub-region taking the lead in Climate Innovations. This will supplement the government's efforts of promoting creativity and innovations amongst young people.
