Nigel Shafran and the Spice Girls by Kathy Acker: In 1997, Shafran was commissioned to shoot the Spice Girls to accompany a Guardian piece by legendary punk writer Kathy Acker about their relationship with feminism and popular culture. With one shot left in his roll of film, Shafran got Acker to shoot him with the Girls for this legendary cover story.

On press for THE FOLD! ’s new artist’s book explores a contentious colonial archive, turning a French orientalist gaze of the veiled female Muslim body back on itself through an immersive installation and our conceptual book that plays with typology, texture and the architecture of the book.

With over 600 distorted, gritty reappropriated images inside and three critical texts in English and French, this unique object will be out in September to accompany Afshar’s solo exhibition at the in Paris.

COMMUNAUTÉS: newly opened at the in Bologna is a major solo show gathering ’s diverse visual photographic practice, weaving the social, political, conceptual and spatial gestures behind four unique projects: Périphérique, Horse Day, Shoplifters and the newly debuted Hands. Communautés is open until late September!

As the show opens, remember: we have only a handful of the sold‑out Périphérique left. Winner of the 2022 Paris Photo–Aperture Photobook Awards, this first full presentation of Mohamed’s breakthrough series used an experimental gatefold layout to look at the layers of meaning in his staged works.
