For those familiar with my pre Rubellan Remasters label history, or those who watched my label's multi-part history on YouTube, you'll know I worked with several indie labels prior to starting my own label. After a several year hiatus, in 2015 I was contacted by a then-new label called Futurismo to work on their reissues of the Suburban Lawns material, and it was this that sparked my interest (again) in starting my own label. I remastered a number of Futurismo titles up to and including the first several releases on my own label.
After their own hiatus, Futurismo reactivated around the time I was deep in the throes of my own label's peak. They did tap on me from time to time to assist with the occasional mastering and remastering gigs, depending on how much the source material needed addressing and what they had budgeted. In some cases, I would just balance and level files for production or prep files for LP cutting. Other times, it was the heavy and intensely focused full on remastering job that I would do for my own releases. I rarely mentioned any of these at the time, and sometimes even went uncredited if only the basic mastering tasks were requested.
Since my label folded, I have continued to work with Futurismo on the occasional project, including a cool Paisley Underground compilation LP and CD with bands like The Three O'Clock, The Bangles, Game Theory, Rain Parade, etc, and am currently working on another project for them. If you haven't heard of Futurismo or hadn't checked out their catalog, you might want to give them a look. Below are some of the titles I'd worked on (to some degree) since 2023, some of the artists I hadn't heard of myself at the time:
Alan Vega - 'Just A Million Dreams'
Surf Punks - 'My Beach' and 'Locals Only'
Strange Party - 'Sleepwalking Through Life'
Various Artists - 'Twisted Dream Machine: The Paisley Underground'
And a new reissue of the Devo 'Recombo DNA' package I did some work on back in 2017.
