Happy First Day of Black History Month!!

Did you know that Dr. Carter G. Woodson is considered the Father of Black History Month?! He was a scholar, historian, educator and author whose mission was to preserve and celebrate the contributions of Black People. On February 7th, 1926, he launched the first Negro History Week, which later was expanded to Black History Month.

We’re so honored to have two art exhibits which contribute to the mission of celebrating and preserving the contributions of Black People!

Chet Gold is a multidisciplinary artist who creates spaces for healing and self love.
His inspirational work on mirrors allows us to reflect on the past as it’s inspired by the pyramid’s of ancient Egypt. And they also serve as a form of visual affirmations for who and where we are today, and what’s required of us to move forward into the future.
