Tonight at 9pm, Off The Air is zeroed in on some crucial Detroit storylines. The Tigers just got swept by the Guardians. Tthey couldn’t hang on last night in extras, losing 7-5 in the 10th despite a late homer tying thing up in the ninth. To top it off, they lost 3-1 today with Skubal on the mound. Their lead in the AL Central is shrinking fast.

Over in football, the Lions are riding high after that 52-21 statement win over the Bears. Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown lit up the scoreboard yet again, and Goff earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors with five touchdowns and over 330 passing yards. But there are still question marks — the defense, some discipline issues (hello, fines for Brian Branch) as they prep for a tough test vs. Baltimore.

Bottom line: Tigers are on thin ice in the standings and need answers fast. Lions have momentum — but can they avoid the pitfalls before their next big matchup? Bring your takes: who’s steady under pressure, and who’s stretched too thin?

Tonight at 9pm, Off The Air has plenty to chew on across Detroit sports. The Tigers let one slip away last night, falling 7–5 to the Guardians in extras. Their magic number to clinch the Central is still sitting at seven, so is this going to be a cruise to the finish or a nail-biter right down to the wire? The Lions, on the other hand, lit it up Sunday with a statement win over the Bears, dropping 52 points and reminding everyone why expectations were so high coming into the season. Michigan kept things rolling with a 63–3 blowout over Central Michigan, but now the questions turn to whether they can keep that level of dominance as the Big Ten grind begins. Michigan State, meanwhile, has given fans something to smile about with a 3–0 start under Jonathan Smith, but the real tests are still to come. Join Sean tonight and tell him your confidence level with the Tigers’ push, the Lions’ surge, and the college football landscape in Michigan.

Tonight at 9 PM on Off the Air with Sean Baligian, we’ve got plenty to dive into. The Lions just gave Jameson Williams a massive $83 million extension, so the question is whether he’s ready to carry the offense or if this is still a gamble. Rookie wideout Isaac TeSlaa turned heads in the season opener with an incredible one-handed touchdown catch, and fans are already wondering if he’s going to be more than just a flash in the pan.

College football gave us plenty to talk about too. Michigan stumbled in a 24–13 loss to Oklahoma, where the Wolverines’ offense never found rhythm outside of one long touchdown run. Is this a wake-up call or the start of bigger problems? Meanwhile, Michigan State pulled off a wild 42–40 double-overtime win against Boston College. Aidan Chiles and the Spartans showed some real resilience, but was it grit or luck that got them across the finish line?

We’ll break it all down and take your comments live. Jump in and share your take on whether the Lions are building the right future and how these college games shift the outlook for both Michigan and Michigan State.

The Lions made waves today by naming linebacker Grant Stuard, once “Mr. Irrelevant” of the 2021 draft, as a team captain alongside stars like Jared Goff, Aidan Hutchinson, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. What does this say about the culture in Detroit, and how much weight do you put on leadership choices heading into Week 1? And while football takes center stage, the Tigers avoided a sweep with Kerry Carpenter’s homer lifting them past the Mets, so baseball talk is bound to enter the mix too. Join Sean Baligian tonight at 9 pm ET for bold takes, live reactions, and your thoughts on where Detroit sports stand right now.
