“He does NOT know how to read, no one took him there... it was only the smell of his love that guided his steps. Respectful silence, sincere little tears of animal feeling and a reunion from the soul during the visit. He did not go to claim inheritances, nor to reproach the past. As a sign of gratitude he went to leave his friend the flowers of his gaze... it is that unlike the human "he never bit the hand of the one who helped him" and until his final bark he will be faithful to the pact of love that without papers or acts social: one day they swore, when fate united them forever..." 🐾🕊️💞

Tracey ( ) is a big, sweet boy with a soft heart. This handsome pittie's story started with hope—adopted as a sweet puppy and welcomed into a home. But two years later, that chapter ended when his family could no longer care for him.
Returned to North Shore Animal League America in April, Tracey is still the gentle, treat-loving pup he always was—just a bit more reserved now. He’s looking for a quiet home, an experienced adopter, a fenced-in yard, and maybe a doggie sibling he clicks with. When you surrender your dog to a shelter—
because he got lost,
because you're moving and he can't keep up with you,
because your new home doesn't accept pets,
or simply because you've grown tired of him—
this is what he does…
He sits there,
waiting for you to come back.
Hours. Days. Months…
He doesn't want toys,
or treats,
or rewards,
or even food.
He only wants you.
If you can't,
or won't,
make a permanent commitment,
then please,
never, ever, ever consider adopting one.
