🚨 SUSPECT IN ARMORED TRUCK ROBBERY ARRESTED 🚨

A man suspected of robbing an armored truck at gunpoint has been taken into custody in Texas, according to authorities.

On July 16, 2025, around 12:14 p.m., an armed robbery occurred in the 9800 block of West Charleston Boulevard. Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified 29-year-old Devonte Jackson as the suspect in the case.

Jackson was located and arrested on July 29, 2025, by Texas State Troopers in Centerville, Texas, with the assistance of the FBI. He was booked into McLennan County Jail in Waco, Texas, on charges of robbery with the use of a deadly weapon and coercion with force with the use of a deadly weapon. He is currently awaiting extradition to Las Vegas.

🚨 Traffic Alert – Cement Truck Rollover 🚨

At 7:23 AM, Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a property damage crash on I-215 eastbound at Stephanie St., underneath the underpass.

📍 A Kenworth cement truck rolled over, blocking all eastbound travel lanes.
🚑 The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
🪣 Some cement spilled onto the roadway but has since been cleaned up.
🚛 A large rotator wrecker is on scene to lift and remove the truck.
➡️ All eastbound traffic is being diverted through the left shoulder and far-left travel lanes next to the crash scene.

💔 Heartbreaking News 💔

We’re deeply saddened to report the sudden and unexpected passing of LVMPD Sergeant Justin Williams. Sgt. Williams began his service in 2011 and was a proud member of the Tactical Operations Section, Safe Neighborhood Bureau, Vice. He was known not only for his skill and leadership in the field but also for the compassion, strength, and integrity he brought to the department.

Born on December 27, 1988, Sgt. Williams made a lasting impact on everyone around him — both in uniform and out. He was recently diagnosed with leukemia, and earlier this morning, suffered a brain bleed that led to emergency surgery. Tragically, he did not survive.

Outside of law enforcement, Sgt. Williams was a remarkably talented singer, often performing the national anthem at Las Vegas Aces games and other community events. His voice, much like his spirit, left a powerful impression on those who heard it.

🚨 There will be a procession today as Sgt. Williams is moved from the hospital to the funeral home. Expect heavy police presence along the route as the community and his brothers and sisters in blue come together to honor his life and service.

Please join us in remembering the legacy of Sgt. Justin Williams — a respected public servant and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.

🚨 Sexual Assault Detectives Seek Additional Victims Connected to 74-Year-Old Suspect 🚨

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Section is seeking potential additional victims of 74-year-old Thomas Dodd, who was arrested for multiple counts of lewdness involving a minor.

On July 21, 2025, LVMPD was contacted regarding the sexual abuse of a nine-year-old child. The investigation revealed that the victim had been inappropriately touched by Dodd, a family friend who met the family through a local church. Detectives say the abuse occurred on July 9, 2025, after Dodd invited the child to his home to watch movies.

LVMPD believes there may be more victims. Anyone with information or who believes they may have been harmed by Dodd is encouraged to come forward.

🚨 BREAKING: Massive Fire Destroys Commercial Building Near UNLV 🚨

A major fire broke our Friday morning behind the UNLV student union, engulfing a two-story commercial building and destroying at least eight businesses, including a U.S. Post Office location, according to fire officials.

The first calls came in at 8:12 a.m., with firefighters arriving within minutes to find flames and heavy smoke pouring from the roof. A third alarm was quickly called as the blaze spread through the north and south wings of the building.

Senior Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Touchstone said parts of the roof collapsed during the fire, leaving the structure dangerously unstable. Most businesses were closed at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department helped evacuate nearby buildings and manage crowd and traffic control. UNLV confirmed the fire was contained just after 9 a.m., adding there was no threat to the campus.

Maryland Parkway remains closed between Harmon Avenue and University Road, and commuters are urged to avoid the area.

The USPS location inside the building was destroyed, and services have been temporarily moved to the Paradise Valley Post Office.

A federal investigation into the cause of the fire is expected.

🚨 Las Vegas Woman Accused in Multiple Hit-and-Run Crashes Over Holiday Weekend 🚨

A woman is in custody after allegedly committing three separate hit-and-runs over the Fourth of July weekend, leaving one victim in a coma.

Shelly Barlow, 39, was arrested July 11 and is being held in the Clark County Detention Center. According to Las Vegas Metro police, the first collision occurred around 4:25 a.m. on July 6 near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Ave, followed just minutes later by another serious crash at Boulder Highway and Lamb Blvd, where a pedestrian was reportedly trapped under her car, suffering multiple broken bones and a brain bleed.

But it didn’t stop there.

Police say Barlow struck again near Charleston Blvd and Eastern Ave, and finally came to a stop when her car gave out at Dolly Lane and Lake Mead Blvd. Investigators reported the car had significant windshield damage with what appeared to be blood, and even had another vehicle’s license plate embedded in it.

Barlow allegedly first told officers the car was hers and she had been driving it — but later claimed the vehicle had been stolen.

Disturbingly, her child was in the passenger seat throughout the entire series of crashes.

All the victims were identified as unhoused individuals who were crossing legally in a marked crosswalk.

One of the victims from the July 6 incident remains in a coma in the hospital.

Barlow is facing two felony counts for failing to stop at the scene of a crash involving death or injury. The LVMPD investigation remains active.
