From Minho To Euphrates, the new album from Lamia Yared & Efrén López is out now.

The album interweaves 4th-century Syriac hymns, 12th-century Cantigas de Santa Maria from the court of Alfonso X, Aleppine Muwashahāt, and a rare 13th-century composition by Safi al-Din al-Urmawi, one of the great theorists of Middle Eastern music.

Featuring Omran Adrah (qanun), Miriam Encinas Laffitte (gamba), Behnam Masoumi (tombak), and Tammam Ramadan (nay).

Iranian oud virtuoso’s Yasamin Shahhosseini will be performing at Melbourne Recital Centre on Friday 24 April 2026.

Yasamin is an artist who aspires to redefine the cultural and stylistic possibilities of the oud for a new generation. Steeped in the traditions of Iranian classical music, she brings an intuitive, exploratory spirit to a form often bound by convention.

Yasamin’s playing is shaped by years of rigorous study in the radif and modal systems of Iran, yet her music never feels constrained by form. Instead, Yasamin carves out a deeply personal space, one that holds introspection and stillness alongside rich melodic invention. Her performances move with the logic of improvisation, drawing on the spiritual and emotional depth of Persian classical music while offering a distinctively contemporary voice.

Tickets are also available for Yasamin’s performance at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 26 April.

Badieh at Temple on the Park, Sydney.

Yesterday felt like a homecoming. After a few years of travel and living interstate, it was beautiful to be surrounded by my community - and for us all to share in the wonderful music of Khorasan.
