We're pleased to announce that we'll be working with Lamia Yared and Efrén López Sanz on their upcoming album 'From Minho to Euphrates'.

This is a very special record, which explores the shared musical legacies between Mesopotamia and Iberia - interweaving 12th-century Cantigas de Santa Maria, Syriac Maronite hymns dating back to the 4th century, muwashahat from Aleppo, and a rare composition by 13th-century musicologist Safi al-Din al-Urmawi.

We can't wait to share the first single from this beautiful record, which is out Friday 19 September.

Announcing Badieh's Australian tour! Discover the beauty and power of traditional music from the borderlands of Iran and Afghanistan.

Spanish/Iranian duo Badieh bring to life the rich and rarely heard folk music traditions of Greater Khorasan. Presented by Worlds Within Worlds, this deeply immersive and transportive experience combines traditional instruments with centuries-old melodies, creating a sonic journey that's both meditative and emotionally powerful.

From the sweeping steppes of borderland towns to the ancient spirit of Herat and Torbat-e-Jam, Badieh’s soul-stirring sound offers a rare glimpse into one of the world’s most evocative musical legacies, rarely heard but deeply felt.

Whether you're culturally connected to the region, drawn to world traditions, or simply seeking the connection through immersive musical experiences, Badieh offers a timeless, vital, and deeply human passageway for all to an ancient musical world.

Tour dates:

23 Oct: OzAsia Festival, Adelaide
02 Nov: The Junk Bar, Brisbane
06 Nov: Melbourne Recital Centre

“I think of the pain and violence in our region and I feel that this piece is more current than ever", explains Nizar Rohana نزار روحانا. "For me it's not just music: it also evokes the memory of a lost place: Emm el-Zeinat is a Palestinian village that has been cleared; it was located on the southern side of Mount Carmel and owes its name to its olive trees".
