What’s next for the greatest marathoner of all time? 👀
After going back-to-back in Sydney and New York, and parting ways with COROS last week, it really feels like Eliud Kipchoge is stepping into a new chapter.
So let’s rewind the tape for a moment.
At just 18, he won the 5,000m at the 2003 World Championships. Then came Olympic bronze in 2004 and silver in 2008, followed by the setback of missing the 2012 London Olympics.
That moment changed everything. He left the track, moved up to the marathon, and the rest became modern running history.
Debut in Hamburg in 2013: win and course record.
First major in Chicago in 2014.
Berlin in 2015, which he would eventually win four more times.
Olympic gold in Rio in 2016 and Tokyo in 2021.
Then the era-defining
achievements:
• First human to break the two hour barrier with 1:59:40
• Broke his own world record in Berlin in 2022 with 2:01:09
• Two Olympic golds
• Eleven major marathon wins
• Fastest average time across all six majors with 2:05:46
So what’s next for the greatest of all time?
The Eliud Kipchoge World Tour.
Seven continents. Seven marathons. Two years.
The journey continues.
