Chuan Malt Whisky Distillery, established in 2021 by Pernod Ricard, is China’s pioneering prestige whisky producer. Located at the foot of UNESCO-listed Mount Emei in Sichuan, it blends traditional Chinese heritage with modern industrial design by Neri&Hu.

The distillery integrates with the natural landscape, using reclaimed materials and concrete post-and-beam structures. Whisky is crafted with local barley, mineral-rich spring water, and barrels from three continents, including proprietary Chinese Danling oak.

Open to visitors over 18, offering guided tours, tastings, and a complete whisky experience.

Within its walls lies The Cathedral, a soaring exhibition hall. Eight silos have been transformed into RBTA’s creative studios. It also contains a private residence with three bedrooms, three living rooms, a kitchen, and a whirlpool bath. The Sala Cúbica is a striking double-height lounge. On the rooftop sit gardens draped in greenery and flowers.

Some restaurants face the sea, Le Plongeoir floats above it. Perched on Boulevard Franck Pilatte near Nice’s port, this iconic restaurant rests on a rocky outcrop you reach by a narrow footbridge. Waves move beneath your table, the horizon sits at eye level, and the whole experience feels almost unreal until you sit down.

 Its story began in 1883, when a large wooden boat was lifted onto this platform and transformed into a panoramic café. Decades later, the boat gave way to the diving boards that still define its silhouette today, capturing the spirit of Riviera summers.
