We are delighted to announce another category for the Andover Music Awards 2026!

Introducing the **Musician & Instrumentalist of the Year Award**.

This award has been created to recognise the outstanding musicians and instrumentalists who help make our local music scene so vibrant and diverse.

From guitarists, drummers, pianists, bassists and brass players to violinists, keyboard players and every talented instrumentalist in between, we want to celebrate those whose skill, passion and dedication bring music to life.

At the same time, this category has been designed to be broader and more inclusive than a traditional instrumentalist award. It recognises people whose musical contribution extends beyond technical ability on an instrument and acknowledges those who make a significant impact through their creativity, musicianship and commitment to the local music community.

The award could include session players, composers, multi-instrumentalists, live-performing producers, band members and musicians who may not fit neatly into one category but whose contribution deserves recognition.

Whether they're performing unforgettable solos, supporting fellow artists, writing original music or helping shape the sound of our local music scene, this award celebrates the people behind the music.

💷 Fundraiser Award – For those who have shown an outstanding commitment to raising money for good causes.

🛡️ Sue Sheppard Award – Recognising courage, determination and people who have overcome adversity.

🌟 Young Person of the Year Award – Celebrating young people who are making a real difference through their talent, leadership and dedication.

📚 Education Award – Honouring those who inspire through learning, teaching and educational excellence.

🏆 Spirit of Andover Award – The ultimate award, chosen from all category winners, recognising the individual or group whose impact on our community has been truly far-reaching.
