This 1902 Wolseley 10hp Tonneau is currently on display at The Royal Automobile Club and is a true stalwart of the RM Sotheby’s Veteran Car Run. With a cruising speed of just 24mph, the car has made the journey from London to Brighton no less than 55 times and even helped to open the Channel Tunnel back in 1994.

The car was the 53rd car to be road-registered in Wolseley’s home of Birmingham in 1902 and is powered by a two-cylinder, 2615cc engine, giving it 11bhp and a top speed of 30mph. It cost £360 when new.

This pretty 1939 ERA E-Type GP2 was on display at The Royal Automobile Club last week and was built to champion British prestige in European motor racing, fitted with a six-cylinder 1980cc engine, producing 205bhp and capable of a top speed of 130mph.

Only 20 ERA cars were ever built and this particular one, an E-Type GP2, won and broke lap records throughout 1948 despite it being a 10-year-old car.

The car was recently meticulously restored, which earned it the ‘Restoration of the Year’ prize at the Club’s Historic Awards last year.
