🚨 NEW SHOW ALERT! 🚨

Alright, this one took an embarrassing amount of time from start to finish. Let's be honest though, it's kind of a big deal. Top ten guitar solos?! Huge!

**Disclaimer: I don't actually know anything really about playing guitar**

This list is based purely on the taste preferences I have developed over 30+ years of immersing myself in guitar-laden rock music. There will be no technical guitar jargon regarding gear or scales or theory. I do, however, go fairly deep into my own process of rating and recognizing guitar wizardry that rocks supreme.

Hello friends. Just a short announcement for those of you who may be interested: I bought a yo-yo! 📣📣

Also, I've had a few people reach out asking if there was a place to stream my podcast/radio program Classic Rock Liberation.

The answer to that question was always. "No. Nobody cares and I'm too lazy." Well, despite the first reason still being true I finally signed up with Mixcloud and uploaded 10 of my podcast episodes which may be accessed here:

These episodes were some of my first attempts at putting together a radio experience that featured some of my favorite Classic Rock tunes and artists while at the same time also exploring ideas and concepts surrounding the music. I promise that it's more fun than it sounds (especially if you're a fan of rock music from the 1960's and 70's). Please excuse my overeager ignorance and, as the intro invites, please send all your comments and concerns to [email protected]

My plan is to leave these ten episodes up for awhile and then replace them with some of the more recent programs I made for 103.3 WWRO Time Travel Radio.

Tonight at 6 PST on 103.3 WWRO it's The Classic Rock Liberation Short-Long! That's what we used to call the glorious hairstyle known as The Mullet in my neck of the woods back in the day. 🤘

It's also what I'm calling this episode. Instead of playing a bunch of killer shorties or big bad jammers I decided to do both in one unprecedented Classic Rock extravaganza! What you'll get is a pile of rock gems that are 2 minutes or less followed by a vintage, longboy, in-studio jam 10 minutes or more in length. Wash, rinse, and repeat for 2 hours. What could be better? Maybe if the show were actually about mullets? Perhaps next episode.

The time has come folks for your monthly dose of Classic Rock Liberation on WWRO!

Admittedly, this episode may not be my most accessible. Musically though, it's probably one of my most awesome! This month I shall focus in on international tunes that contain "No English, Thank You" 🚫🇺🇸😁.

The other kicker is my self-imposed rule of No Instrumentals Allowed. That means three hours basking in some of the finest underappreciated rock musicianship of the 60's and 70's with nothing but the beautiful and fiery vocalizations of foreign tongues!🇸🇯🇦🇷🇮🇹🇩🇪🇳🇬🇭🇺, etc. I also talk a bit too...in English...which IS allowed. I try my hand at a little French too 🇨🇵!

So go to work, take a nap, do all the chores, set an alarm, get Google translate booted up. Do whatever you need to to, just BE THERE!

A few from the catalog of Brewer and Shipley. Conspicuously missing is the "Tarkio" album which I'm pretty sure I used to have and is, pretty undeniably, their best album.

These are good too though. Some better than others. I've always enjoyed their clean take on the folk-rock sound. Great harmonies, some well crafted tunes. Easy to find and cheap, which is always nice.

One of B & S's songs will grace the airwaves tonight on 103.3 WWRO (can you guess which one?). A breezy uplifting melody to go nicely with the show's theme "Sunshine & Rainbows". 🌞🌈✌️

It's Summer and it's time to get happy with some overtly positive Classic Rock. It all still totally rocks of course and will include some Deep Stuff and an especially Awesome Jam all with an aim to lift your spirits and give you something to smile about.

Join me tonight as I try to keep the minor chords to a minimum and my levels of cynicism at bay.

It's Summer time kids! You know what that means. Time for old man Lopez to mucho fiesta and mucho siesta. The upshot of this is that I'll be spending a bit less time behind the mic. Instead of my typical two shows a month I will be be doing a paltry ONE SHOW a month.

Never fear however! This is actually great news for all of you fans of the wild and wonderful world of Classic Rock in all of it's multi-faceted splendor. None other than vinyl ju**ie extrordinaire Natalie Testa ( aka on Instagram) will be filling in for me as a special treat for y'all throughout the summer.

Hello friends! I know you're all feeling a bit down after that Tuesday grind. Some of you may have even had a three day weekend which makes the situation even worse.

Happening Tonight at 6 PST (9 Eastern)! Make all necessary preparations.

Some high concept shenanigans going on on the big show tonight! I will be playing killer tracks by some of the most pervasive rock artists of the 60's and 70's and then matching these bands up with lesser-known artists with a similar feel.
