Wurtz finishes 3rd in the 1600 with a time of 5:21.51 — her fourth state medal in the event and 14th career state track medal.

Zeller up next for the Chargers in the 400 final as at 3:45. Chargers are in 9th with 19 team points. With five entries left in four events, they are still in competition with the top teams.

Wabaunsee’s 4x800 team of Grace Zeller, Talen Orton, Isabelle Stuhlsatz, and Payton Wurtz win it with a time of 9:45.89.

Gold for the Chargers in the 4x800! Zeller, Orton, Stuhlsatz and Wurtz win big with a school record time of 9:45.89, nearly 15 seconds faster than second place.

Wurtz will go back to the track at 1:25 for the 1600, where she has medaled three years in a row.
