Mrs. Violet Chapman Shank
JUNE 12, 1939 – JANUARY 10, 2021

Obituary of Mrs. Violet Chapman Shank
Violet Chapman Shank, 81, passed away on January 10, 2021. She was born in Cumberland County, Virginia to the late Robert and Annie Chapman. She retired from Life Touch Studios. Violet was a long time member of the South Norfolk Moose Lodge. She was a very giving person; always making sure everyone was fed. Violet was a loving and devoted mother; always checking on her family. She loved to travel and was ready to go at a moment’s notice. Violet was predeceased by 5 brothers and 1 grandchild. Left to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Cindy Sherman (Bob) and Connie Dawley; 2 sons, Tim Shank and Jody Shank; sister Lois Plyler (Perry); 9 grandchildren; 13.5 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 17, 2021, from 2-6:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Rebecca Turnmire Threadgill
NOVEMBER 12, 1935 – AUGUST 5, 2020

A caring and loving soul that touched so many hearts.
Rebecca Ann Threadgill, 84, passed away peacefully at her home on August 5, 2020 in Clayton, NC. She was born November 11, 1935 in Caldwell County, NC to the late Charles and Ola (Hartley) Turnmire.

Her laughter, smile, and long stories will be deeply missed by everyone who was privileged to meet her. Rebecca retired from Life Touch Studios in Chesapeake, VA.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, William B Threadgill of Chesapeake, VA; and her sister, Peggy Hawkins of Hudson, NC. Rebecca is survived by her daughters, Lisa Stahl with her husband Butch and Deborah Threadgill; granddaughter Ashley Vandriesen and her wife Lanaya; great grandchildren, Axel and Arwyn Vandriesen; brother C.E. Turnmire and his wife Beada of Charlotte, NC; sister Marlene Hartley of Hudson, NC; niece Tara Turnmire; as well as numerous family and friends.
