Senegalese Prime Minister Sonko slams Macron - African Leaders are waking Up

President Emmanuel Macron said today that the announced departure of French bases would have been negotiated between the African countries that decreed it and France.

He goes on to say that it was out of simple convenience and politeness that France gave these African countries the first chance to make the announcement.

I want to say that, in the case of Senegal, this statement is totally wrong.
No discussion or negotiation has taken place to date and the decision taken by Senegal stems from its sole will, as a free, independent and sovereign country.

He finally declares that "no African country would be sovereign today if France had not deployed." Let us note that France has neither the capacity nor the legitimacy to ensure Africa's security and sovereignty.

On the contrary, it has often contributed to destabilizing certain African countries such as Libya, with disastrous consequences noted for the stability and security of the Sahel.

This is finally the place to remind President Macron that if African soldiers, sometimes forcibly mobilized, mistreated and ultimately betrayed, had not deployed during the Second World War to defend France, it would, perhaps still be German today.

Rice Sharing in Anambra turns into Tr@gedy as many d!e as a result of Stampede

A stampede in Okija, Anambra State, has claimed the lives of some individuals who went to collect food items.

This happened when one of the prominent men in the town of Okija offered food items to residents as Christmas gifts, thereby attracting an overwhelming crowd. The deceased who were mostly women were evacuated to the morgue.

This comes days after 35 children died at a Christmas funfair stampede in Ibadan, Oyo state and ten died in a stampede during food sharing in Abuja.

Reacting to the reports, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, in a statement released said

‘’Anambra State Police Operatives have taken over the scene in Okija where an alleged stampede occurred in the early hours of today 21/12/2024, that led to some persons being fatally wounded.
Preliminary information reveals that a known Philanthropist from the Okiaja Community, on his yearly schedule shares some palliatives to the members of the community to provide succour to the less privileged. Unfortunately, before the event could start, a large number of uncontrolled persons took over the event area which resulted in a stampede.
