For the Foley family, featured in the Summer 2025 issue of , spending summers in their 19th-century sea captain’s house on Cape Cod has been a festive tradition for generations. While timeless antiques and patriotic pastimes are cherished, it’s the layers of family memories and architectural character that truly make the home special.

Personality and pattern define this space. Color envelops it.

Actress and interior designer chose this 1960s rug for its blues, oranges, and reds that match the exact palette she and her actor-builder husband envisioned for their lofty foyer.

“The entry hall was the space that really drew me to this house,” says Bernsen. “I pay attention to the scope and proportion of a room, and this one felt just right to me.”

Together, the pair leans into the promise that everything old is new again in their Hudson Valley farmhouse.
