Dear Sir

Do not fall for anyone trying to stampede you into running for the 2027 Presidential Election; they want to lead you to political perdition.

I know it was some political jobbers that cajoled you to contest in 2015,even when it was agreed that you will serve for a term after President Yar'Adua's death.

I believe if you had agreed to step down in 2015 and allow another Northern Candidiate to contest, some people would'nt have ruled this country;and probably we would'nt have been on this road to Golgotha.

Enjoy your retirement in peace and allow them to finish what they started.

No evil shall go unpunished

JULY 30,1966
THE ATTROCTIES CONTINUE..

Major Peter Obi is a young Igbo army officer of the Nigerian army.He had just arrived the country from Germany where he had gone on a special training for the newly-formed Nigerian Airforce.

As one of the pioneer officers of the Nigerian Airforce,he had looked forward to blissful career in the Airforce, having been transfered from the Nigerian army.

But early this morning ,he was shot dead at Ikeja Barracks by his colleagues who were part of the Northern revenge coup that started late on the 28th.

Also killed at Ikeja Barracks were Major Ben Nnamani and a host of junior Igbo officers and men of the Battalion. They were killed by their collegues for being Igbo army officers.

They had to die because Power must return to the North.

IBADAN,WESTERN NIGERIA...
JULY 29,1966
O0:23 HRS
...all the three men(Ironsi,Fajuyi and Nwankwo) were stripped and flogged with Horsewhips. After being put into separate Vans, the convoy set off with Major Theo Danjuma leading.

When the reached the outskirts of Ibadan,at Mokola road junction, where the roads divide, one going to Oyo Town and the other to Letmauk Army Barracks, garrison of the 4th Battalion, the convoy split Danjuma headed back to Letmauk after giving whispered orders,to Lt William Walbe, the Commander of Aguiyi-Ironsi's es**rt .

The rest of the convoy proceeded. After ten Miles, the three army officers(Ironsi,Fajuyi and Nwankwo) were ordered down and made to march along a narrow footpath to the bush. They were stopped, and were beaten and tortured again so badly that they could hardly walk...."

It was in this melee that Nwankwo managed to untie the wire around his wrists and dashed into the bush...and escaped, while Ironsi and Fajuyi were later finished-off with bursts of Machine Gun.

Later, the Police found the bodies and buried them in Ibadan Cemetery, from where they were taken six months later and laid to rest in their respective home towns

July 6,1967

The Nigerian civil war officially started today with a first shot fired early this morning around Nsukka in the present-day Enugu State.

This civil war would have been averted if Yakubu Gowon, (the then Nigeria's Head of State) had honoured an agreement he reached with Ojukwu at Aburi,in Ghana earlier in January.

But as was usual with him,as soon as Gowon arrived Lagos from Aburi,he gave his ears to the Federal Civil Servants and to his Northern màsters who advised him that he had conceded too much to Ojukwu .

There and then,Yakubu Gowon was prepared to dishonour his own word and break the terms of the Aburi Agreement.

Over a Million Igbos died in this war.May their souls continue to rest in peace.
..and may their memories be a blessing.

APPRENTICE HIJACKERS..

"....Ladies and Gentlemen, this Plane has been taken over by the Movement for the advancement of Democracy. You will be told where this Aircraft will land you.You do not Movement or you will die.."

Those were the words of the Leader of a group of teenage- hijackers who seized a Nigerian Airways Plane enroute from Lagos to Abuja during the June 1993 political crisis in Nigeria
The aircraft pilots are Captains Ambrose and Odion, and it is scheduled to depart from Lagos to Abuja on 25 October 1993.

Shortly after takeoff, the four armed teenagers who were mostly students of Federal University of Technology,Akure took control of the aircraft announcing that they are members of MAD (Movement for the Actualization of Democracy).

The Plane was later diverted to Niger Republic by these students after the Pilots refused to go to Germany where these hijackers had originally wanted the Plane to land.

The standoff later ended after three days when security Agents from Niger Republic stormed the plane and wrested control of the Aircraft from the hijackers.

Richard Ogunderu(19),Katie Adenuga(18),Benneth Oluwadaisi(20)and Kenneth Rasaq Lawal (19) were all arrested and sent to Prison for Terrorism.

They were released after 9 years by the Authorities in Niger Republic.

....the British man who exposed the atrocities committed by Nigerian soldiers against the Igbos during the Biafra war has died.

Fredrick Forsyth,a Former BBC West African corresponent during the Nigerian Civil War passed away yesterday Monday, after a brief illness.

He was regarded as one of the world's greatest thriller writers and was also known for his deep passion for the Biafra struggle.

His experience in Biafra during the War and his sympathy for the Biafra cause led him to write 'The Biafra Story' which was one of the earliest detailed accounts of the conflict.
