I am a PUNKROCK PROGRESSIVE AGGRESSIVE TECHNO, HOUSE & BREAKBEAT Dj! IN THE BEGINNING: Dj ROCKIT discovered the sounds of Techno in 1990 when first hearing the song “The Spice Must Flow” by Eon at METROPOLIS, a local club in Central California. At the time being in a local Punk band, hearing this new sound led to Rockit’s passion for electronic dance music and on to his journey into the undergroun
d rave scene and club culture. Even though it would be some time before he would fully discover this New World and his new destiny, he was now on the path to new discoveries. On January 1st 1995, Rockit took up the art of Dj’ing and the original Dj ROCKIT was born. Stepping behind the decks he set out with one mission, to make people feel the groove and party their asses off! From there on he developed his own unique style of Breaks, Tech Funk, House and Techno. Since then he has played at parties ranging from small intimate events to some of the biggest Massives and nightclubs in Northern California, Las Vegas, Idaho and Utah. He has had the privilege to open for and, play alongside some of the Biggest and most talented DJ’s in the world. Since his emergence on the scene, he has held residencies for several production companies in Northern California and for one of the most notable nightclubs in the Sacramento area. In the mid and late 90’s he was one of the main residents for two of the most well-known rave and club production companies in the Nor-Cal area, “SUBSONIC UNDERGROUND” and “FUZ-E” Productions. He has also held a residency for “STATIC” productions and his own production company known as “THE PHUNKY PEOPLE PROJECT” till 2007. In 2000, Dj ROCKIT held a two year residency at LIFT, one of the most predominate EDM nights inside the Rage nightclub in Sacramento. In the past he has been a part of Sideshow Kuts International, 1200 Hustle (Nor Cal chapter), Theoryon records, Funky Flavor music, Smoke Break Crew and Fraktured SF. And he also an alumni Dj for Strategik and Strategik North, which are two notorious crews that are known for their collaboration they do with other crews and their own renegade parties in Northern California. On Sept 5th of 2004, Dj ROCKIT became the one and only winner of the USA Heineken, Club Ice DJ challenge. This contest which was held at ICE in Las Vegas was also filmed for Spike TV’s reality show called “THE CLUB”. He and twelve other DJ’s were picked from out of over 250 DJ’s to participate in the contest to battle for the 2004 Heineken DJ Challenge title and the chance to open at the clubs most packed night alongside World renowned DJ’s Paul Oakenfold and Sandra Collins. Dj Rockit was judged and finally picked out of the final three Dj’s by Paul Oakenfold as the winner of the contest. During the contest, he made short spot appearances on several of the shows episodes with the other contestants. And then was finally featured along with Paul Oakenfold and Sandra Collins on the shows next to last episode as the winner of the DJ challenge where he had the pleasure of opening for Paul and Sandra at ICE. Currently Dj Rockit is an online resident Dj for Phreak Recordings and currently he produces, Dj's and runs his own Dj show called “DOWN RIGHT DIRTY” that airs every other Friday night, early Saturday morning at 11 pm pst / 2 am est over on:
