Syed Abd Rahman Inducted into International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame 2026

Johor-born Malaysian diving professional Syed Abd Rahman has been inducted into the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame, recognising his decades of work in youth education, adaptive diving and making the underwater world accessible to people with disabilities.

The founder of Kids Scuba Malaysia and Diveheart Malaysia Ambassador becomes the second Malaysian from Asia to receive the prestigious recognition.

What lives more than five kilometres beneath the surface?

Scientists exploring the deep waters around American Samoa are revealing a remarkable world of corals, sponges and other deep-sea life, alongside vast fields of polymetallic nodules.

Recent NOAA ROV dives have descended beyond 5,000 metres, with one encounter including a 1.6-metre bamboo coral that could represent a new depth record for its type.
