***Paco’s Places***

Sunday, my wife and I went exploring in Clermont. First we went to the Farmer’s Market. Tons of vendors selling all kinds of products.

Then we went somewhere I found on line just a few minutes from downtown.

If you’re a history buff, I think you’ll love it. It’s The President’s Hall of Fame (Museum)!

They’ve got items from White Houses from dozens of presidents…and I got right in the mix…and loved it!

Just like a lot of times when we think we want or need something, we pray and ask God to provide. Let’s remember that AFTER we are gifted by His grace to pray AGAIN to thank Him.

Well, today was kind of that way for me. I went out to give a “thank you” bag of Z goodies to a couple of our friends (and supporters) in Central Florida.

It was our restaurant partner’s day to hear, “thank you for supporting the Z!” These good people provided awesome meals for our phone volunteers and us during our two weeks plus of fund raiser!

Thank you to Mecato’s and Caribbean Sunshine Bakery for delivering and providing those great meals that kept us going!

As we wind down October, I had to wear one of my pink shirts in honor of my mom and grandmother who both passed from metastatic breast cancer.
May they Rest In Peace. I’ll see you both again one day when I come home.

I know I’m not the only one who has been through this. Tell the people you care about how much you love them every chance you get.

Decorating? Here are the trending colors for this year.

Living rooms colors are going to be more soft neutrals with warm tones. Expect to see a lot of soft beige, muted taupes, and creamy whites.

Also, expect to see more earthy tones (again) like terracotta, burnt sienna and olive green. Many will be using bold accent colors like navy blue, deep emerald, and mustard yellows in furniture or accent pieces.

Bedrooms are going for a more relaxing greens and muted blues, with soft shades of sky blue, sage green and pale aqua.

Blues are known for their calming properties. Sage green is recognized for it’s grounding effect for tranquility. Remember, if you have comparably small bedrooms, light colors give the impression of larger sizes. You can also use strategically placed mirrors to create the illusion of a larger space.

If you prefer a serene atmosphere, look towards using cool tones lie blue and green and warm neutrals like soft beige, light taupe and pale blush will make your bedroom cozier, warm and friendly atmosphere

Some folks like an accent wall (in the bedroom) and may people choose the wall behind the headboard to inject a bold, or contrasting color. This year’s colors are moody charcoal or rich plum.

In your kitchen, where most households seem to congregate these days, the colors of choice are softer and more muted grey tones. To add a pop color or contrast, you’ll see pale mint, soft lavender, and blush pink in accessories, wall pieces and counter décor. And if you “think outside the bold box,” some people are going with matte black cabinets. Whether painted or new, the color contrast is bold, and eye catching.

If you’re more of a traditionalist try using terracotta, burnt orange and rich browns in your galley.

So, if you’re going to do some painting, as i have over the past months. That should answer your question about, “what are the colors people are using?”

**Paco's Places**

This past weekend, my wife and I did our "exploring outings," as we usually do. One of our newest favorite places is the Melbourne-Malabar area.

We stopped in Grant-Valkaria, Florida...a tiny town on Rte 1, between Malabar and Sebastian.

As we were driving through there, we saw a small building off the side of the road. We decided to stop to check it out. After all, there was a pier and picnic tables there, and we love to walk out on piers and look out over the water.

When we walked over to the small house, we noticed that it was a "Historic U.S. Home" that was built in 1916 by Atley and his wife Clara.

There were so many cool items in the house that were a lesson in each one. One, was the original concept for a deep fryer, another was a turn of the century washing machine. But, the most amazing to my wife and I was a German Bible from 1699! (in the pictures).

If you're a history buff...check it out...there are LOTS of stories in the house and George and his wife will be happy to share them with you!
