There’s something about chasing a good lobster roll in the middle of the Midwest that feels like a personality trait — and we fully leaned in when rolled into . First time trying them, and honestly? We were impressed. The lobster was fresh, bright, and tasted like summer even though we were surrounded by streets, not saltwater.

Now, listen… nothing hits quite like a fresh lobster roll on the water in Maine with ocean air, gulls screaming, and a dock that’s seen better days. But for being about as land-locked as it gets? Cousins comes pretty darn close. The flavor, the butter, the texture — it’s giving “I’d go back” energy.

Every year, our family celebrates Maslenitsa, the Slavic festival that bids farewell to winter with golden, buttery pancakes symbolizing the sun ☀️

This year was extra special as honored the tradition in solidarity with Ukraine 🇺🇦 , making it the perfect place to indulge and enjoy the final day of Maslenitsa

We went all in on the
🐖 KC Classic, filled with ham, cheddar, arugula, and tiles with dijon mustard
🍓 Goodfella, with bacon, cheese, strawberry preserves, topped with a fried egg
🍫 Mini Paris, kids version of their Paris crepe with nutella & fruit (minus the nutella for Beatrice)
🍾 Of course, we couldn’t resist pairing it all with a fresh mimosa and a spicy, rimmed Bloody Mary, both perfect complements to the meal

We love that Seven Swans embraced Maslenitsa this year, bringing awareness and community to the table alongside their incredible crêpes.
