Talk about leaving a legacy... This programmer left his company and the team that took over discovered his legendary "legacy" of automation scripts. He had one for any task that took more than 90 seconds of his time. 😂
Here are a few of the most absurd scripts they found:
* The "Work Late" Script: If he was still active on the server after 9 PM, a text message would automatically go to his wife saying he was working late, with a random, pre-selected reason.
* The "Sick Day" Script: On a scheduled workday, if he hadn't logged in by 8:45 AM, an automated email would be sent to his team stating he was sick or would be working from home, complete with a random excuse. 🤒
* The "Coworker" Script: This one scanned emails from a specific coworker. If it saw keywords like "help" or "problem," it would auto-reply with, "No worries, be careful next time," and immediately roll back the database to the last backup. 😅
* The "Coffee" Script: He wrote a script that opened a Telnet session to the office coffee machine. It had a 17-second delay (the time it took him to walk to the machine) and would then select a medium half-caff latte and add a 24-second delay for the brew time. ☕️
