CAN YOU SPOT THE DIFFERENCE? 📸 Slight adjustments make for better photos. Let’s break it down…PHOTO ONE ❌ Sitting square to the camera can cause foreshortening of the legs and compression of the torso. ❌ While this is a completely normal way to sit in real life, photography takes 3d humans and flattens them into a 2d image.

SMALL ADJUSTMENTS, BETTER POSES 📸 While there’s nothing wrong with the pose on the left, the one on the right much better suits the lines of my outfit and brings the photo to life. Here are a two things to keep in mind while choosing your pose…� ✅ Work *with* your outfit. Notice how on the left I’m bending the knee that’s covered by my sarong? Instead, bending the opposite knee (like I am in the right) creates a better flow to my pose. ✅ Be mindful of hands. While it’s common to rest your hands on your waist or hips, the placement of my hands in the pose to the left cuts the line of my body. Instead, bending my arms slightly and placing them strategically allows the viewer’s eye to travel around the photo. ARRIVEDERCI 🍕 Permission to be vulnerable? Change has always been a challenge for me— and this season of my life appears to be full of it. (Swipe to the end photo to see a photo of Grampy and me at A&V’s 16 years ago.) In a way, it’s only appropriate that one of the oldest institutions in my hometown of Fullerton, Angelo’s & Vinci’s, would close during this time as well. It’s home to of a lot of happy childhood and high school memories, and in a way, its constant presence was comforting.
