One of the hardest moments in motherhood
is trying to calm the little one
while your patience runs out on the older child.
The words come out sharper than you meant.
The tone heavier than they deserved.
And the guilt follows instantly.
Because deep down, you know the truth—
your older child is still just a child too.
Still needing gentleness.
Still needing reassurance.
Still needing you.
This is the quiet truth of motherhood:
a mother loves all her children with the same heart,
even when her hands are pulled in opposite directions.
And later, when the house finally grows quiet
and the weight of the day settles in,
she brushes her hand through that familiar hair and whispers,
“You were my first brave step into motherhood.
You were my first forever love.” ❤️
