🤰💛 36 Weeks Pregnant & Recovering from Gallstone Surgery 💛🤰

July 6, 2025 - I celebrated my 33rd birthday in the operating room.

Being 36 weeks pregnant, I never imagined I'd go through surgery at this stage — but life had other plans. Severe pain led to a diagnosis of gallstones, and after careful monitoring, my doctors decided that surgery couldn’t wait.

Yes, it was scary — but the pain was worse. I trusted my medical team, and they performed an open cholecystectomy to remove my gallbladder safely, even this late in pregnancy. Baby was closely monitored the whole time.

✨ Here’s what I want other moms to know:

Gallstones are more common during pregnancy than we think.

They can cause sharp pain in the upper right abdomen, nausea, and even vomiting after meals.

If left untreated, they can lead to infection or other complications.

Surgery during late pregnancy is rare, but possible with the right team and precautions.

Recovery can be tough, but not impossible — especially with support and rest.

Now, I’m healing, counting baby’s kicks, and staying positive as we wait for labor day. 💪👶

To any pregnant mom in pain — listen to your body. Ask questions. Advocate for yourself. Your health matters just as much as your baby's.

💜 Prepare yourself to embrace all the blessings coming your way. 💫

Pregnancy + Gallstones: What You Need to Know 💡

Pregnancy is already a major journey, but some moms end up dealing with gallstones too. 🥴

Gallstones are hard deposits that form in the gallbladder — and guess what? Pregnancy hormones can actually make them more likely to show up. Estrogen increases cholesterol in bile, and progesterone slows down digestion. That combo can lead to painful gallstone attacks, especially in the second or third trimester.

⚠️ What it feels like:
• Sharp pain in the upper right abdomen or middle of your stomach
• Pain after eating, especially fatty or greasy food
• Nausea or even vomiting

🍼 Managing it during pregnancy:
• Eat smaller, low-fat meals
• Stay hydrated
• Avoid fried and spicy foods
• Listen to your body — and rest when the pain flares up

Always talk to your OB-GYN if you’re having symptoms. In some cases, they may refer you to a specialist or monitor your condition closely. Surgery is rarely done during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary.

To any mom facing this: You’re not alone. It’s tough — but temporary. You’re doing amazing. 💛

To the momma who’s almost there…

You’re in the home stretch.
You’re sore, you’re swollen, and let’s be honest
you’re probably beyond ready to meet your baby.
But you’re also emotional, because even though you’re counting down the days, you know you’re also counting down the final moments of this chapter.

These last weeks of pregnancy are a strange mix of exhaustion and wonder.
You’ve carried this little soul for so long, and now it’s almost time to let the world meet the baby you’ve already fallen in love with.

Maybe you’re scared. Maybe you’re excited. Maybe you’re both
sometimes all in the same breath.
You’ve spent months imagining their face, wondering what their cry will sound like, what it’ll feel like to hold them for the very first time.
And now it’s all becoming real.

Soon the kicks from the inside will be replaced by tiny fingers wrapping around yours.
The sleepless nights will continue
but for a whole new reason.
And your heart?
It’s about to grow in ways you never thought possible.

So if you’re crying more lately… that’s okay.
If you’re terrified even though you’ve done this before… that’s okay.
If you’re clinging to every little movement, every last belly rub, every second of silence before life changes forever… that’s more than okay.
It’s beautiful.

Because you’re a mama who’s about to cross that invisible line
From carrying to cradling.
From waiting to meeting.
From imagining to living it.

This is the sacred space between what was and what will be.
And no matter how your labor goes, no matter how your story unfolds
You’re already everything your baby needs.
You’ve done an incredible job.
And the most magical moment is just around the corner.

Hold on, momma.
You’re almost there. 💕

🌿 Nesting as a Third-Time Mom… 7 Years Later! 🍼

It’s amazing how different it feels to prepare for a baby after such a long gap! With my youngest now 7 years old, I’m rediscovering the nesting phase all over again — but this time, with a little more wisdom (and a lot less stress 😉).

Here are some things I’m doing differently this time:

✨ Simplifying the Essentials – No more hoarding everything baby-related! I'm sticking to what I actually used with my older kids.

🧺 Organizing with Purpose – Every drawer, basket, and corner now has a purpose. Diapers, wipes, clothes — all sorted with love.

💗 Involving the Big Kids – Letting them help set up the nursery and pick out baby books makes it even more special.

🧘‍♀️ Creating a Calm Space – Less clutter, more peace. I’m all about making a restful and cozy baby area this time around.

🤱 Preparing Myself, Too – Nesting isn’t just about the house — I’m also preparing emotionally and mentally to welcome another little one into our lives.

To all the moms who are starting over after a big gap — you’ve got this! 💪 Your experience is your superpower. 💫

🔥 Acid Reflux in the Third Trimester? You're Not Alone! 🤰💥

As baby grows, your organs shift—and that includes your stomach getting squeezed upward. Hello, heartburn! 😣🔥

Acid reflux is a common struggle in the third trimester. It can feel like a burning sensation in your chest, sour taste in your mouth, or discomfort after eating.

🍼 Why it happens:

The uterus is pushing up on your stomach.

Hormones (like progesterone) relax the muscles, including the valve between your stomach and esophagus.

🫶 Some relief tips:
✔️ Eat smaller, more frequent meals
✔️ Avoid spicy, fried, or acidic foods
✔️ Don’t lie down right after eating
✔️ Elevate your upper body when sleeping
✔️ Sip water throughout the day

✨ Always talk to your doctor before taking anything for relief.

Hang in there, mama! You're almost at the finish line. ❤️ Every little kick and flutter brings you closer to holding your baby in your arms. 👶🌸
