It’s the sight no Raiders fan wants to see but there is a very real prospect that Josh Papali’i will be wearing another team’s colours in the NRL next season.

While it has been assumed that Big Papa was heading to the U.K. at the end of the season the man himself has come out and confirmed it is no fait accompli.

‘If the team that you're playing for is not offering you another contract for the following year and you want to play on, you've obviously got to look elsewhere.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Trey Mooney was a player in demand with a number of clubs wanting to take him off the Raiders hands prior to the June 30
transfer deadline. The club rebuffed all approaches though and not doubt see him as a valuable member of the squad particularly when Josh Papali’i moves on at the end of the season. He gets an opportunity to show his stuff this weekend against the Dragons.

Both Morgan Smithies (headbutt) and Hudson Young (elbow) have picked up charges out of last night’s game against the Wests Tigers. The good news is that both have only been charged with grade one offences and escape with fines only so will be right to take on the Newcastle Knights next weekend.
