Originally written for Ringo Starr's 1999 Christmas album but didn't make the cut, this is a lost Christmas classic that deserves to be a holiday favorite.

Seems like not a week goes by without losing an artist we love, but today particularly hurts. Steve Cropper was the guitarist on many, many songs that I love. Incredibly influential as a guitarist, as well as a songwriter, producer & collaborator. He's one of the reasons I play a Telecaster. For more on Steve, check out our previous episodes on Wilson Pickett and "Favorite Trax from Stax Vol 1". And a Vol 2 will be airing in 2026.

Ronnie Wood and Steve Cropper discuss Stax Records and writing 'Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay' with Otis Redding just before his death. They discuss the ins...

Welcome to my podcast!

Welcome to the “I’m In Love With That Song” Podcast. Each episode, we’ll take one of my favorite songs and dive deep into it, listening to all the nuances that make it a great song. You may be unfamiliar with some of these songs, while others you’ve probably heard a hundred times, but I bet if we listen closely, we can discover something new. Of course, there’s no definitive answer to what makes a great song—beauty is in the ear of the beholder—these are just my personal favorites, but I hope you love these songs, too.
