If a person truly cares about you, it would break their heart knowing they really hurt you. People make mistakes, but when you tell them they hurt you, and they respond by gaslighting, deflecting, lying ormanipulating. That is not love, that's ego. They are more concerned about being. criticized, judged, looking bad. You threatened the illusions they have of themselves, so they respond by getting defensive. In their mind you insulted them. They don't care how you feel, they are angry you called them out.

A lot of people will pull the avoidant card as soon as things get real. One minute y’all are cool, next minute they’re distant, acting like catching feelings is too much. They’re scared to deal with emotions, keeps you at arm’s length. Now, when a person starts doing the BARE MINIMUM, that’s a major red flag. just giving you enough to keep you around, but not putting in the effort. They’re comfortable, but they’re not invested. Don’t settle for that, especially if they’re giving you the least!

I like reciprocation in all forms… If you want me to be understanding I need that too. If you want me to be emotionally available, I need that too . If you want gifts, I need that too. If you want me to let things go after you apologize, I need that too. If you want me to work on myself, I need that too. If you want communication, I need that too.
