🚨 Flooding Updates 🚨
South Taranaki District Flooding Updates

The recent heavy rainfall we experienced has led to significant surface flooding and major slips in various locations in the District.
Council contractors are aware of the below road statuses and will be working to make these accessible again. Priority will be given to the roads that are currently closed.
Update on roads
Ngutuwera Road (from Henson Road to primary school) - closed due to surface flooding. Signs are in place and will be removed on Monday if appropriate.
Rawhitiroa Road (SH3 - 40km mark) - open, but extreme care is needed
Maben Road - open, care required.
Morea Valley Road - 4WD access through to the end. Extreme care required.
Tangahoe Valley Road - 4WD access through to the end. Extreme care required.
Waitotara Valley Road - SH3 - Open through to Makakaho from SH3. Open Extreme Care required. 4WD access only beyond 40km mark.
Makakaho - closed.
Omahina - open, extreme care required.
Taumatatahi Road - Open 4WD access only. Extreme care required
Little Tempsky Road - open . Signs are in place and will be removed on Monday if appropriate.
Tirimoana Road - Camball Road end up until the Gorge, Open. Closed through the gorge.
Cambel Road - Open. Care required.
Okahutiria Road - Open - extreme care required.

Here's what you need to do:
- There is still surface flooding and slips throughout the District, please continue to take extreme care when driving on our roads this weekend.
- If you must travel, drive to the conditions and plan ahead for your journey. Check for any road closures (this page for local roads and NZTA for State Highways).
