Tomorrow I am taking my kids to Baltimore to feed the homeless with Generosity:Global, an organization we talked about in Episode 1. I'm making a huge pot of cheesy broccoli rice tonight, it's been a hit at our family dinners so I hope people will enjoy it.

Every second Saturday of the month a group gathers in Baltimore to feed the the homeless a home cooked meal. They call it "Selfless Saturday" and after seeing some friends participate I decided we should too.

Up With Moms Episode 4! Check out my interview with Natasha Harth, AFI's 2016 Military Spouse of the Year. She is a military wife, mother of two, a full-time loan officer, and somehow she finds the time to serve the homeless, run charity drives for military families, help foster kids, and inspire others to give back too!

In Episode 4, I talk to Natasha Harth, 2016’s Military Spouse of the Year. Natasha is one of those people who just “wows” you with her kind spirit and generosity. We met at an Elevate DC event before I even started this podcast and within a minute of talking to her I knew I had…

In Episode 3, Jenn Zussman shared her story about becoming a surrogate mother. She opened up about the joys of surrogacy and the challenges she faced while carrying a baby for her friend. You may need some tissues for this one!

In Episode 3, Jenn Zussman and I talk about the emotional experience of becoming a surrogate mother. When her friend told her two years ago that she could no longer carry children and she would need to hire a surrogate if she wanted to have another biological child, Jenn immediately said, “I’ll ...

Montgomery County will declare Tuesday "No More Trash Bags for Children Living in Foster Care Day." The local nonprofit Comfort Cases will be recognized for giving children across the country bags filled with essentials and "comfort items." I will post the link to their Amazon wish list in the comments if you'd like to help them fill the Comfort Cases. Most of the items are under $10.

When children in foster care move from home to home, they often carry everything they own in garbage bags. A nonprofit based in Rockville, Maryland, is trying to help.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of interviewing Natasha Harth, 2016's Military Spouse of the Year. She's collected food and other necessities for the homeless, opened a food bank in her home for military families, organized a gown collection for wives going to the military ball, and that's just the beginning. She is truly an inspiration and I'm looking forward to sharing this podcast with you soon. If you know someone who is always paying it forward and giving back to the community, please let me know. I'm ready to book more guests for upcoming shows!

Should schools notify parents when their children are being bullied?

Richard and Christine Taras knew their soft-spoken son had been picked on by a school bus bully. But they were unaware of the more extensive torment Jacobe endured in school hallways until the day the 12-year-old middle schooler killed himself with his father's shotgun.
