A summary of every GTM planning meeting ever.

Marketing is dreaming of rocket ships.

Operations is reviewing the launchpad safety checklist.

If you've heard this, it's a system issue, not a people issue. The old model of 'Marketing creates, Ops approves' is broken in regulated industries. To achieve real velocity, you must shift your operations and regulatory teams from gatekeepers to co-creators.
This isn't just a mindset shift; it's a structural one. Here is the framework I implement to turn operational friction into a strategic advantage:

1. The GTM Playbook: Your Single Source of Truth. We collaboratively build a living document defining the rules of engagement. This includes a library of pre-approved claims, documented review cycles with clear SLAs, and an escalation path for disagreements. This removes ambiguity and empowers marketing.

2. Risk-Calibrated Agility. Not all marketing carries the same risk. We design a tiered review system (e.g., Tier 1 for low-risk content, Tier 3 for major launch claims) to focus scrutiny where it's needed most, allowing most activities to proceed quickly.

3. The Integrated Campaign Brief. Operations, legal, and regulatory are included in the campaign briefing process. By contributing to the strategy's foundation, they become invested in finding compliant solutions rather than just pointing out problems.

The result is speed and safety, operating in perfect alignment.

Q1 is always an opportunity to take a "step back" and look at processes and systems to see where improvements can be made. Because I'm bilingual in operations and marketing, here's how I see it:

I’ve spent 30 years in marketing and operations. I’ve seen incredible creative visions fall apart simply because the "boring" back-end systems weren't there to catch them.

I hate to see a Founder burn out during a launch—not because their product is bad, but because their process is broken.
That’s why I pivoted to the Operational side of the business.

I want to be the person who builds the machine that allows your marketing to fly.

When I join a team, I’m not just checking boxes. I’m looking at your business through the lens of three decades of growth experience.
My first 30 days look like this:
✅ The Audit: I look at your project management tools—whatever platform you use—but I also look at your customer journey. Where are we leaking time? Where are we leaking money?
✅ The Stabilization: I take over the tasks that drain you. Because I have a marketing background, you don’t have to micromanage me on copy nuances or brand voice. I "get it" immediately.

A great question came in on a recent post: "How do you balance keeping ops realistic when marketing wants to move fast in such heavily regulated spaces?"
It's the central challenge. The solution isn't to slow marketing down, but to build a system that enables speed safely. You achieve this by shifting from a reactive "review" process to a proactive, unified framework.

Here are the three principles I use to make it happen:
1️⃣ Integrate Early & Often: Operations and regulatory aren't a final checkpoint; they are strategic partners in campaign development from day one.
This eliminates surprises.

2️⃣ Create a "Speed Playbook": We codify the rules of engagement—pre-approved claims, documented review processes, etc. This creates predictability, allowing marketing to move quickly and confidently within agreed-upon boundaries.

3️⃣ Calibrate Risk: A blog post and a new product claim don't carry the same weight. We create tiered review processes based on risk, ensuring maximum rigor where it's needed most and agility everywhere else.
By building the system proactively, compliance becomes a foundation for speed, not a barrier to it.
