When Gidi Gidi Maji Maji dropped "Unbwogable," they didn’t just release a song — they created a whole new word.
Inspired by the Dholuo verb "bwogo" (to scare), they flipped it with a creative twist: Unbwogable — meaning "cannot be scared" or "unshakable."
It wasn’t textbook Dholuo; it was street-smart innovation that blended African roots with urban flair.
The word sounded powerful, felt familiar, and rolled off the tongue so easily that it became a national anthem — from the streets to the political rallies of 2002.
Kenyan artists have always been masters at bending language to make magic.
