Remember the Children

Tiny shoes left in the dust,
dreams silenced, but still with us.
They never found their way back home,
their spirits forced to walk alone.

The wind still carries their gentle song,
reminding us where hearts belong.
Fields remember their laughter’s trace,
mountains weep for each lost face.

We gather now, with prayers to send,
for broken journeys that never mend.
O Great Spirit, hold them near,
let love embrace what once knew fear.

May every child in earth and sky,
be wrapped in peace that cannot die.
And in our hearts, their names remain,
like sacred fire, like gentle rain.

No More Stolen Sisters

Her face holds mountains, rivers deep,
A sacred memory the earth must keep.
Her braid is woven with songs of flame,
Whispers of sisters who never came.

The red hand cries where silence grew,
A mark of sorrow the world once knew.
Yet from her spirit, a vow takes flight:
No more stolen in the dark of night.

We lift her voice, we raise her name,
Through fire, through storm, through endless pain.
For every sister, lost, unknown,
The earth resounds: you are not alone.

We Are All Related

With every sunrise, may I stand,
To honor Earth with open hand.
To give more love than I receive,
To plant the seeds that others weave.

May I bring healing, not divide,
With gentle steps, with humble pride.
For in the circle, none apart,
We share one breath, one sacred heart.

“Song of a Hummingbird”

I am but a flicker of wings,
a heartbeat carried on the wind.
Today, I fly not alone—
my brothers and sisters circle with me.

We find the blossom,
a crown of colors at the world’s center,
its nectar sweet as morning rain,
its fragrance a hymn to the sky.

We do not quarrel,
for beauty is endless when shared.
One by one, we drink its light,
and in return, we give it flight—
a halo of shimmering feathers.

Listen: in our dance around the flower,
you may hear the secret of joy—
that even the smallest souls
can guard the universe with love.

Our culture is not just carved in stone,
It breathes in voices, it stands alone.
It is the fire that lights today,
And guides tomorrow’s sacred way.

The eagle soars, the drum still beats,
In every heart its song repeats.
The past, the present, the future too,
All rise together—strong and true.

From the breath of Sky Father’s chest,
Rose Tatanka, the Sacred Guest.
His hooves carved rivers through the land,
His shadow blessed the earth and sand.
Mountains bowed beneath his tread,
The stars awoke where his spirit bled.
In his eyes, the forest dreamed,
In his horns, the pale moon gleamed.
He spoke to the people of prayer and song,
Of living in balance, where all belong.
“Take only what the Earth will give,
And walk in peace, so all may live.”
But greed grew tall, and hearts turned stone,
The hunters took, and prayed alone.
The herds grew silent, the plains grew bare,
And sorrow filled the morning air.
Then came a Calf, in robe of white,
Glowing soft with sacred light.
She brought the pipe, the holy flame,
And taught the people the Circle’s name.
Now in the wind, when thunder calls,
Tatanka walks where sunset falls.
His spirit roams the boundless skies,
In every storm, his heartbeat lies.
Remember him — O children born,
Respect the life, the beast, the corn.
For when you pray, and when you stand,
You touch his soul — you heal the land.
