🇱🇾 Libya’s Ongoing Struggle
Libya today remains trapped between division, corruption, and the absence of a unified state. Decades after promises of democracy and stability, the people continue to suffer under political fragmentation and the dominance of narrow interests.
Ordinary citizens face daily challenges—power cuts, inflation, insecurity, and lack of basic services—while leaders argue over positions and power. Oil revenues, which should be a blessing for development, are instead a source of conflict and corruption.
The bitter reality is that those entrusted with shaping the future—parliamentarians and members of state councils—are not immune from corruption. As new government arrangements are discussed, many will be bribed with money, lucrative posts, and promises of positions in embassies abroad. Once again, the nation’s fate is traded like a commodity, while ordinary Libyans pay the price.
The truth is clear: Libya will not survive and will not stabilize as long as division and corruption continue. No foreign intervention, and no temporary deal, will save the country. Only when Libyans themselves choose reconciliation, justice, and transparent elections will a real future be possible.
It is time to put the nation above all narrow interests. The destiny of Libya lies not in the hands of outsiders, but in the will of its own people.
