2027: Ibadan North East/South East APC Primary Winner, Ishaq Demands Justice
The winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election into the Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency, Hon. Morufat Ajibola Ishaq has pleaded for justice and compliance from the concerned leadership of the party on her mandate.
She made the call on Friday while requesting for the uphold of her victory as the party's candidate through the primary held on Saturday, 16th May, 2026 where majority of the bonafide members voted her to fly the ticket for the 2027 national assembly elections.
According to her, I was duly nominated as stipulated by the electoral law and my party, APC's guidelines and was subsequently screened and certified for the internal contest which I convincingly won under the strict supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials in Ibadan South East and North East Local Government areas respectively making the federal constituency.
My popularity as well as wide acceptance among the APC members and supporters across the 24 Wards of the national constituency and beyond are not a fluke but as a result of the undiluted love and merit engendered through the unstinting humanitarian services to the grassroots over the years as a core philanthropist and diehard progressive politician who strives for an egalitarian society.
Subsequently, my emergence as the winner and standard bearer of the APC was publicly done by the party's electoral officials in the presence of the INEC agents only to be hindered with the undemocratic plots by a group of regressive elements mostly outside the constituency manipulating an impostor who didn't even come close to the number of votes polled by me in the primary contest as the consensus candidate of the party.
I have petitioned various quarters importantly the state and national secretariats of the party warning any acts capable negating the democratic norms known of our great party, APC likely jeopardizing of the bright chance of the party in Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency in the coming general elections where the disenchanted consistuents have been yearning for the quick return of the purposeful representation through my candidacy, she stated.
Ishaq in conclusion implored the state executives of the APC chaired by Otunba Moses Alake-Adeyemo, collegiate of state elders coordinated by Alh. Fatai Ibikunle and other sub-leadership groups in the state to respect the wish of the majority of the party members in Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency who popularly gave the mandate to her as the best among the score of aspirants jostled for the slot by rightly releasing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) documents to her for an onward formal application ahead of the 2027 general elections.
