It is on this day, September 23, that we commemorate the holy Feast Day of St. Padre Pio.

He was one of the many Saints remembered by Church history to have received the stigmata, wounds similar to the crucified Christ. St. Padre Pio had borne these stigmata for 50 years, unexplainable by medical science.

He was also said to possess bilocation, that is, the capability of appearing in two places at the same time, with multiple accounts backing this story in his lifetime.

As a living person, St. Padre Pio often spent many hours of the day to hear the confessions of the ordinary folk, having the capability to read their hearts and reveal hidden sins, so that everyone who confessed may be guided to penance.

Lastly, he had numerous visions that consisted of Christ, Mary, and other saints throughout his time on Earth. This helped him stay strong in his spiritual battles, steadfastly maintaining faith against the devil, who tormented him spiritually and physically.

May Saint Padre Pio serve as an honest and righteous model of our lives, and that his intercessions may help our prayers to remain resolute and firm in the face of temptations, trials, and tribulations of everyday life.

𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐨 𝐗𝐈𝐕: 𝐀 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞

Today, we joyfully commemorate the birth of Robert Francis Prevost, known to the world as Pope Leo XIV, the first American ever to be elected as the head of the Catholic Church. Chosen on May 8, 2025, he became the 267th pope. He was formally inaugurated on May 18, 2025, at St. Peter’s Square, where about 200,000 faithful from across the globe gathered to witness the historic moment. He chose the name Leo XIV to honor Pope Leo XIII, reflecting his devotion to Catholic social teaching and his drive to champion justice for all.

Long before becoming pope, Pope Leo XIV devoted decades to missionary and pastoral service in Peru. He served as a parish priest, seminary educator, and later as a leader of the Order of Saint Augustine, where he nurtured the spiritual and intellectual formation of its members. He also held vital roles in the Church’s administration, always striving to uplift marginalized communities and encourage global cooperation.

As we celebrate Pope Leo XIV’s birthday, we pay tribute to a shepherd who leads with humility, courage, and compassion. His life reminds us to walk with faith, care for the poor and excluded, and work together for a world rooted in the Gospel’s message of justice and love.

MALOLOS CITY, BULACAN — On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Immaculate Conception School for Boys (ICSB) marked the official end of its first quarter with the Grade 8 Convocation for Batch 2025-2026. Held at the Confido In Misericordia Hall, the event was a platform for distributing academic report cards and recognizing outstanding students.

The convocation began promptly at 8 AM, led by student emcees Jordan Matthew Espiritu of Grade 8-Bartholomew and Ronald Remy Gomez of Grade 8-Simon. The opening prayer, led by Andy Jacob Padilla of Simon, and the singing of the National Anthem by Lance Vladimir Deacosta of Bartholomew, set a reverent tone for the morning.

The School Rector, Msgr. Pablo S. Legaspi Jr., P.C., addressed the students, emphasizing the crucial role of prayer, morals, and virtues in academic and personal life. He highlighted that intellectual growth must be paired with strong character, as the youth are the "hope and future of the Philippines." Following his remarks, an intermission number featured select Grade 8 band members performing "Panalangin" by Apo Hiking Society.

The highlight of the event was the announcement of academic merits and distinctions. Ms. Rizza Mae Omnos, the advisor for Grade 8-Bartholomew, and Ms. Johnaflor Salguet, the advisor for Grade 8-Simon, called their students to the stage to receive certificates for their achievements. This included certificates for both Academic Merits and the prestigious Academic Distinctions for students "With Honors" and "With High Honors."

As the program drew to a close, Assistant Principal Christian Mendoza shared his closing remarks. He spoke on the importance of the relationship between parents and their children and affirmed the school's commitment to helping students thrive both academically and as young men of character and Christian faith.

The convocation concluded with a closing prayer led by Diel Ziegler Pamintuan and a unified singing of the school hymn, "Salve Mater Immaculata," by the entire Grade 8 batch. While the Grade 8 students received their report cards at the convocation venue, students from other grade levels (7, 9, and 10) received theirs in their respective homerooms.

The convocation officially concluded the first quarter, and as the ICONS prepare for the second quarter, they are encouraged to continue their pursuit of excellence. The school's motto, Sanctitas in Sapientia—Holiness in Wisdom—serves as a guiding principle for the students' journey toward success and spiritual growth.

Setyembre 1 – Nagtipon ang lahat ng baitang ng Immaculate Conception School for Boys (ICSB) para sa pang-umagang panalangin. Pagkatapos nito, nagbigay ng pambungad na pahayag si G. Aldwin D. Custodio, kasama sina Gian Marco Bungay at Marcus Tayshaun Mendiola bilang mga tagapagdaloy ng programa, upang pormal na simulan ang huling patimpalak para sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika na pinangungunahan ng organisasyong “Samahang Wika.”

Sa inisyatiba ng naturang organisasyon, isinagawa ang aktibidad upang palalimin ang at pagkakaisa sa pamamagitan ng pagpapakita ng iba’t ibang interpretasyon sa iisang piyesa ng Sabayang Pagbigkas na pinamagatang “Wikang Pilipino sa Kalayaan at Pambansang Pagkakaisa” ni Patricinio Villafuerte para sa mga baitang 9 at 10. Samantala, nagsagawa naman ang mga baitang 7 at 8 ng Malikhaing Pagkukuwento gamit ang itinakdang piyesa na may pamagat na “Ang Kahon at ang Kuwento ng mga Lumang Laruan.”

Nagsilbing mga hurado sa patimpalak sina G. Daryll Santos, G. Jude Saliot, at Bb. Anna Lou Espina.

Ipinamalas ng bawat pangkat ang kanilang talento, husay, at dedikasyon. Para sa Malikhaing Pagkukuwento, itinanghal na kampeon ang 7-Matthew, sinundan ng 8-Simon bilang ikalawang gantimpala, 8-Bartholomew para sa ikatlong gantimpala, at 7-John para sa ika-apat.

Sa Sabayang Pagbigkas, namukod-tangi ang 10-Peter na nagkamit ng unang gantimpala, kasunod ang 10-Paul bilang ikalawa, 9-Jude bilang ikatlo, at 9-Andrew bilang ika-apat.

Pagsapit ng 10:30 ng umaga, pormal na nagtapos ang patimpalak sa pamamagitan ng pagkilala at paggawad ng mga sertipiko sa mga nagwagi at maging sa mga hurado. Mula sa samu’t saring aktibidad ng Buwan ng Wika, napatunayan na ang tunay na puhunan tungo sa tagumpay ay ang dedikasyon at pagkakaisa. Higit pa rito, pinatibay ng kasaysayan na ang Wikang Pilipino ay nagsisilbing haligi at buklod ng sambayanan sa kanilang sama-samang paglalakbay tungo sa inaasam na pambansang kalayaan at pagkakaisa.

The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a day we celebrate on September 8th each year. It marks the birth of our Blessed Mother, who would become the mother of Jesus Christ. This event is a joyful occasion for us as believers.

The story of Mary’s birth is not found in the Bible. Instead, it comes from our traditions that have been passed down through generations. According to these stories, Mary's parents were a holy couple named Joachim and Anne. They were elderly and had no children. Their prayers for a child were answered with the birth of Mary, which we see as a miraculous gift from God.

The celebration of this feast is a long-standing practice. It is believed to have started in Jerusalem around the 6th century with the dedication of a church built on the traditional site of Mary's birth. The feast was later adopted in Rome and then spread throughout the rest of the world, a testament to our universal faith.

For us, this day is a chance to honor Mary. It is a time for us to gather for services and to reflect on her life. The date itself, September 8th, is nine months after December 8th, which is the date we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
