This is a message for each and every member of the Sparks Squad, and I mean it with every fiber of my being: I love you all and am so thankful that you have not only been a part of my life for the last 6 years, but you have let me be a part of yours, as well. When I started this community, I had one goal in mind: To be a safe place for us all to have fun gaming with one another. Through this community, I have met so many wonderful people across the spectrum of the LGBTQIA+ Community, and even discovered that I, myself, am a part of it through not only my Allyship, but through my Demisexuality, as well.
The world right now is scary. People who do not understand what Pride is about are looking through a narrow lens of "where's my Pride for being Straight?!" as if folks are out here looking for trophies and validation, when Pride is meant as a celebration of Victory that Love, a concept that knows no boundaries of race, gender identity, sexuality, creed, or religion, will always win. Even now, as the very thought of being your true, uninhibited self comes under fire from politicians and radicalists who thump religious texts and decree that you are wrong, Love can and will win.
Please know that this community, this ragtag group of peoples from all walks of life and who share differing viewpoints, is a beacon to show that we humans CAN coexist in acceptance, so long as we keep our hearts and minds open to the things we may not fully understand. Know that here, you are safe, seen, welcomed, fought for, and LOVED for the person you are, regardless of how you identify yourself. I love you all, and I wish you a happy Pride Month. No matter what, we'll weather all of the storms ahead together. Just remember to "Be Good to Yourself & Be Good to Others". Always ❤
