A couple photos I took for our area show caves were featured in the LA Times today.

What's above ground in Northern California's Calaveras County is beautiful, but below ground there awaits another world of mystery and majesty.

Our book on the Natural Bridges contains many stunning photos of the cave and writeups on its history, natural history, and geology. It's available at the National Speleological Society bookstore and locally at Mercer Caverns, Angels Camp visitors center, Manazanita Arts Emporium, the Angels Camp Museum, the old-timers museum in Murphys, and the historical museum in San Andreas. It may also be obtained directly from the author at Under Earth IMages.

After being an avid collector of postcards of sea caves for years, I have produced two of my own from two classic caves of Santa Cruz island. One shows the dark interior of Painted Cave lit with flashbulbs, the other shows the Blimp Hangar, a cave with a 200-foot-plus-high entrance and by far the largest such on the island. Island Packers in Ventura will sell these and you can also get them through me directly.

Two new upcoming additions to my series of postcards of the Calaveras Natural Bridges. These will be 9 and 10 of the series. I wasn't that keen on putting text, but my biggest vendor thinks cards will sell better if they ID where it is on front. What do people think of the color size and font face used?

The Natural Bridges are one of our local area's major attractions, yet the last time a postcard was issued was apparently 1910. Having taken photos of there over the years, I decided to issue a set of postcards. The back of the cards includes a bit of background and a brief conservation message: "Please respect this natural treasure and help maintain its beauty for all to enjoy for generations." Hopefully people realize that includes not putting graffiti on the walls...These will be for sale in local venues or collectors can order sets mail order for $3 including postage by visiting the Under Earth Images home page.
