Established in 2005, Transcending Obscurity operates not just as a webzine but also a massive record label with over 50 signed bands and a respected PR company. The focus, as the name suggests, is to promote deserving bands

the world over and the entity is rapidly growing to be a powerful and global force in the line. With physical as well as digital distribution tie-ups in North America and Europe, and with the label's recent foray into multiple formats, it is poised to be one of the most prominent and fastest growing labels worldwide. It's bringing the world closer, so to speak, having its base in Asia but also providing a home to many bands from the Western part of the world. The aim is to spread the music as thoroughly as possible the world over.

OFFICIAL RELEASE DAY: Dead and Dripping (US) - Nefarious Scintillations (Brutal/Technical Death Metal)

It's a rare pleasure to work with intriguing brutal/tech death metal albums such as this one which vaguely sounds like Demilich attempting to play Suffocation songs while on drugs. Evan Daniele has truly taken things to the next level in all ways on this release. It's out now on all platforms and make sure to check it out - with an open mind if that helps!

NEW BAND SIGNING ANNOUNCEMENT: Swiss black/death metal band Apolaustic

It's a pleasure to work with Romain, the former vocalist and guitarist of Stortregn, for the release of his new band Apolaustic's debut full length. It's a beautiful, stirring, and deeply personal record brimming with emotive melodies counterbalanced by enough blackened extremity for contrast and temperance. The album is called "No Plenitude Without Suffering" and you can listen to one of the songs from it over here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BowxE2De5o

Band's statement, "Apolaustic is honoured to announce its signing with Transcending Obscurity Records.
For years, this label has stood as a refuge for music that does not compromise, where intensity, depth and vision are not just welcomed, but required. A place where the underground is not a genre, but a conviction. To join Transcending Obscurity is to take a step with intention. To commit fully. To speak without dilution. This marks the beginning of Apolaustic, the first breath made public. What comes next will unfold in silence, in patience, and in truth."

Line up -
Romain Negro (ex-Stortregn) - Vocals, Songwriting
Merlin Bogado (Dyssebeia) - Session Guitars & Bass
Nicolas Muller - Session Drums

Info -
Forward-thinking Canadian band Mors Verum are giving their own interpretation to the death metal style, creating music that is simultaneously dissonant, progressive, and atmospheric. They've removed the shackles of the otherwise linear and niche style and have allowed their music to explore different realms whilst retaining the death metal sound along with its sharp dissonant edge. The result is absolutely riveting, with the music constantly alternating between throbbing discordant blasts and soothing passages, traversing worlds hitherto unexplored. The experience feels at once liberating and cathartic, as though having achieved epiphany after constant, dogged exploration. The lengthier song lengths never feel tedious either as the band embarks on their newfound path with relative ease and confidence. On "Canvas", they have adopted a fascinating approach to the style, one that is beautifully tempered yet adventurous enough to excite.
