THE SIN OF HAM, THE RISE OF MAN
By: Sara Lamm
November 2, 2024
The story of Noah presents us with one of the Bible’s most intriguing and challenging narratives. It’s here that we get a glimpse into human nature, divine judgment, and the process of redemption. The story unfolds in the aftermath of the Flood, a cataclysmic event meant to cleanse the world of its moral corruption. Yet, even in this new beginning, we find echoes of the very failings that led to the world’s near-destruction.

The narrative takes an unexpected turn when Noah, having planted a vineyard, becomes intoxicated and lies uncovered in his tent.
וַיָּחֶל נֹחַ אִישׁ הָאֲדָמָה וַיִּטַּע כָּרֶם׃
Noach, the tiller of the soil, was the first to plant a vineyard.
Genesis 9:20

וַיֵּשְׁתְּ מִן־הַיַּיִן וַיִּשְׁכָּר וַיִּתְגַּל בְּתוֹךְ אָהֳלֹה׃
He drank of the wine and became drunk, and he uncovered himself within his tent.
Genesis 9:21

His son, Ham, encounters this scene and, in a moment of moral failing, commits an act that the Bible describes succinctly but ominously:
וַיַּרְא חָם אֲבִי כְנַעַן אֵת עֶרְוַת אָבִיו וַיַּגֵּד לִשְׁנֵי־אֶחָיו בַּחוּץ׃
Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside.
Genesis 9:22

Consequently, this sets in motion a series of events with far-reaching ramifications.

The precise nature of Ham’s transgression has been debated by scholars for generations. Some interpretations suggest a more grievous offense than mere observation, while others focus on Ham’s subsequent actions – his decision to speak of his father’s compromised state to his brothers rather than discreetly addressing the situation. Regardless of the specific details, it’s clear that Ham’s behavior represented a significant breach of familial respect and honor.

Noah’s response to learning of Ham’s actions is severe. He pronounces a curse, not on Ham directly, but on Ham’s son Canaan:
וַיֹּאמֶר אָרוּר כְּנָעַן עֶבֶד עֲבָדִים יִהְיֶה לְאֶחָיו׃
he said, “Cursed be Canaan; The lowest of slaves Shall he be to his brothers.”
Genesis 9:25

This moment of generational consequence raises profound questions about the nature of sin, punishment, and the long-reaching effects of our actions.

But what makes this episode particularly striking to me is its timing. It occurs immediately after the Flood, an event that was supposed to herald a new era of righteousness. The fact that humans so quickly returned to the very sinful behavior they were punished for shows that moral challenges persist, even after such a powerful divine act.

Yet, the broader narrative of the Bible does not leave us without hope. While the story of Ham’s sin illustrates the persistence of human error (or, simply put, being human), the continuing saga of humanity in the Bible also demonstrates the possibility of growth, redemption, and renewal. The divine covenant established with Noah after the Flood remains intact, as the Bible affirms:
וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתְּכֶם וְלֹא־יִכָּרֵת כָּל־בָּשָׂר עוֹד מִמֵּי הַמַּבּוּל וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה עוֹד מַבּוּל לְשַׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ׃
I will maintain My covenant with you: never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
Genesis 9:11

Despite our imperfections, there is always a path forward. It is often through our mistakes and shortcomings that we find the greatest opportunities for growth. The story of Ham and Noah illustrates this paradox of human nature: our capacity for moral failure is intrinsically linked to our potential for spiritual and ethical development.

Consider how the aftermath of Ham’s transgression leads to a deeper understanding of familial respect and the consequences of our actions. Through this incident, we learn not just about the importance of honoring our parents, but also about the complex dynamics of family relationships and the far-reaching impacts of our choices.

Moreover, the very fact that the Bible includes this story – showcasing the flaws of key figures like Noah and his son – teaches us a profound lesson. It suggests that acknowledging our imperfections is a crucial step in the process of self-improvement. By confronting our capacity for error, we open ourselves to the possibility of growth and change.

This perspective aligns with the broader themes of the Bible, where we repeatedly see characters stumble, learn, and strive to do better. From Adam and Eve’s expulsion from Eden to the trials of the Israelites in the desert, the narrative arc consistently emphasizes that it is through challenges and mistakes that we develop our moral and spiritual strengths.

When we think about these stories today, we must ask ourselves: when we inevitably fall short, how do we engage in the process of teshuvah – repentance and return? God promised that He will not destroy the world in a flood again. And in that place, we are left to our own devices to become good people. This divine restraint creates the space for human agency and responsibility, challenging us to confront our failings and actively work towards betterment.

So let us take comfort in the Bible’s overarching message: while human nature is complex and prone to missteps, the capacity for improvement and the opportunity for redemption are always present. And more importantly, God’s covenant reminds us that He has faith that we can overcome these challenges. We see that acutely from watching the story of Ham and Noah unfold. Our imperfections, rather than being mere obstacles, can serve as catalysts for growth and transformation. Ultimately, it is up to us to learn from past failures, strive for better in the present, and work towards a more righteous future.

DON'T MISS A MIRACLE
Christine Caine
You are the God who works wonders; you revealed your strength among the peoples (Psalm 77:14, CSB).

I visited Copenhagen some years ago, and as I was being driven around in a cab, I was struck by the beauty of the city. It was stunning. I kept saying to the cab driver, “This place is awesome.”

Soon, the driver began to cry. He told me he felt overwhelmed by how amazed I was at the beauty of his city. Suddenly, he pulled the cab over and looked at me with tears streaming down his face. I’ll never forget what he said:

“Sometimes you can be living in the midst of a miracle and not even realize it.”

That moment will forever impact me because I don’t want to miss one miracle in me or around me. Generations before us have prayed to see signs, wonders, and miracles. And by the grace of God, in His mercy and timing, He is still performing the supernatural in and through His people.

Let’s not miss it. Let’s look for it. And, together, let’s stand in awe of His power and give God the praise He is so worthy of.

God is speaking all the time, but we need to “tune in” to hear Him. We also need to “tune out” the negative voices.

He spoke these scriptures to me again for a few days and today I felt to share this photo as a cover photo, but I didn't know if I had written anything or not to go with it when I selected the photo... perhaps it's meant for someone to see again 🗝

I see many who are receiving new maps and plans and instructions in this hour. Your former life plans were disrupted, but God saw and knew what was coming against you and God sees and knows right now in this hour all that He is working together for good on your behalf, too. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith.

Continue to build your faith and lean into Him, linger in His presence, and speak forth His words of life and truth according to His Word. Sometimes things are not always as they appear on the surface, but He knows it all - every detail from the beginning to the end.

His desire for you is good, for He is nothing less than a good God who loves His beloved sons and daughters. Keep a watch over what He is doing within you, what He is causing you to learn and how He is disciplining your thoughts to live up to His.

Stay humble and yielded, for He will illuminate, even as with a magnifying glass, what you need to see and when. His timing will be perfect.

Rise up in faith and trust that He has not and will not abandon you, for many ~ including you as you listen to His voice ~ are receiving new maps and plans and instructions in this hour for the days ahead.

Encourage yourself in the Lord. Make note of the instructions He gives you, write them down and keep them before you as you listen to all that He leads you to and speaks to you. He will make clear the vision in which you will run at the appointed time.

And the Lord answered me:
“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it.
For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay."
~ Habakkuk 2:2-3

I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.
~ Jeremiah 29:11

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns - October 31, 2024: You fuss and worry about too many things. You need to settle into a place of trusting Me in every situation and know that I am not only aware of what is happening, I will lead you through every valley and place you on a mountain top where you can see clearly, says the Lord. Worry will lead to presumption and can take you off course. Put your trust in Me. Psalm 56:3-4 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?.

ENTERTAINING ANGELS!
With the Supernatural Barrier beginning to weaken, between the Natural Realm and the Supernatural realm, there are more Encounters taking place in the natural realm between people and the Angelic every day.

While we do not worship the Angelic, they are sent by the Lord as ministering servants for the people of God to strengthen us (Luke 22:43) and encourage us forwards into God's Destiny for our lives.

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13:2

"For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." Psalms 91:11

While there have always been Supernatural Encounters, throughout scripture, between the Angels of God and people in the natural realm, there's coming (and is even here now) a massive increase in those Supernatural Encounters the closer that we get to the end of the age.

What many Christians don't realize, is how many Angels are often stationed around their lives at any given time, not just to protect their personal lives, but as a protection for the Anointing that they carry inside of them.

"The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them." Psalms 34:7

While there's also a distinct curiosity among the Angels (as well) about each of us, I have had several experiences over the years with several Angels, where all that they would do is stare at me puzzled.

It was like they couldn't figure out what God would want with beings like us, and wondered why God would actually want to use us to begin with, when He actually has them already. Lol!

However, what they're really doing is waiting for us to speak the Word of the Lord, so that they can go forth into the earth to perform whatever the Holy Spirit prompts us to say!

"Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word." Psalms 103:20

As we have become the New Testament Ark of the Covenant, with God's Word written upon the tablets of our hearts, (2 Corinthians 3:3) one of the reasons that the Angelic hangs out around the saints is that they're waiting for the Word of the Lord to be spoken.

This season saints, Hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to you, and Declare It Forth and Decree It! For as you do, you're not just speaking it into the earth around you, but you're Empowering the Angelic around your life to Perform whatever the Holy Spirit told you to say!

More Angelic Encounters are coming! As those Encounters come, you'll be Strengthened, Encouraged and Protected in ways that you've never experienced before, as the Holy Spirit prompts you to say things that'll have direct impact upon the people and the World around you!
Do You Know Who You Are???❤️❤️❤️

Get back on your feet...
You have more strength in you than you realise...
This is not the end, it is the birthing...
The life will not be squeezed out of you!
The devils trick is to make you think there's four walls closing you in...
You can't breathe and you feel restriction....
You might feel pushed to the wall, but God is in your corner!
The pressure is the pressing...
And with the pressing comes new wine...
With the squeezing comes new oil...
With the PRESSING comes the PROMISE.
I decree His favour and anointing is being poured in and through you today!
2 Cor 4:8-9
Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out.

GOD IS GOOD NEWS

I started this page as an outlet for Christian news reports on world events. I could see there was a lot of “fake news” out there and I wanted the truth myself from God’s point of view more than just biased main stream news. I have a Christian based Facebook with prophetic words, teachings, videos etc. but I wanted a place to put just good news from God with a political slant instead all of the doom and gloom from the media. Since I was starting a website called God Is Good News I decided to start first with Facebook and link them together so here I am. I felt led to do political news over 10 years ago but had to go back to work and had no time. Now I’m not working and it is even more critical to have God’s opinion out there too. Welcome and thank you for following me.
