👀 Did you know your vision plays a major role in how you keep your balance?

When your vestibular system isn’t functioning properly, your brain leans harder on visual input to stay steady. But here’s the catch—if the signals from your eyes and vestibular system don’t match, your brain gets conflicting information. That mismatch is what really triggers many symptoms, including:

🌀 Visual sensitivity
🌀 Trouble with busy patterns or motion
🌀 Difficulty focusing or tracking
🌀 Dizziness triggered by screens or scrolling

This “sensory conflict” makes your brain work overtime, often leading to discomfort and imbalance. Understanding the link between vision and balance is key to managing symptoms—and finding the right treatment approach.

An acute vertigo episode is a sudden onset of intense dizziness or spinning, often without warning. It can last for seconds, minutes, or even hours—and may leave you feeling disoriented, nauseated, or completely off balance.

These episodes are common in many vestibular disorders, especially early on or during flare-ups.

Here’s what you can do if one hits:
➡️ Find a safe, quiet place to sit or lie down
➡️ Keep your eyes focused on a fixed object
➡️ Breathe slowly and deeply to calm your nervous system
➡️ Avoid triggers like caffeine, alcohol, or sudden movement
➡️ Keep a “vertigo kit” nearby: meds, acupressure bands, migraine glasses, water, noise cancelling headphones.
