Mrs. Skipper by artist . Part of Rhode Island’s Troll Trail. Located on Kettle Point in East Providence East Bay Bike Path.

When I rounded the corner on the bike path I was struck by how big she appears in the distance. From the path in the park you can’t see her. Only when you reach the pier do you see the huge boat she is under. I attempted to get closer but didn’t want to risk it on the rocks. Still, from the pier you can see the materials and craftsmanship that went in to making her. Looking at her face I felt a sense of calm, not like an old friend calm but much more than a stranger. It’s definitely worth a visit and I’m looking forward to seeing the others.

As the DOT winds down the work in the Henderson Bridge area, nature takes over. I saw a couple of deer the other day. First time in the 20 years of living in EP. This morning was a gaggle of geese. Have a beautiful day!

Went for a walk at the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge this morning. It’s a little hard to see but this is the wind project that has a federal stop-work order despite being 80% complete.

On another note, I learned a new word from , it is kakistocracy.
