Congrats to Pam for earning 2 more national awards this week from Baptist Communicators Association. She won 1st place (along with TAB Media's super talented designer, Lauren Grim) for Newspaper Front Page for a cover photo Pam shot at the 2024 SBC in Indy. She earned 2nd place for Environmental Portrait for the cover photo of an Aging Well special edition of The Alabama Baptist. (Fun fact: The winning photo features Pam's mom, Velma Saunders & her husband, Fred).

During our coverage as traveling correspondents, Pam has earned 7 national awards in BCA's environmental portrait category over the past 6 years. Together, we have received more than 20 national awards for feature writing, script writing, blog posts, photography and video production.

Special thanks to Woman's Missionary Union and TAB Media Group/The Baptist Paper for partnering with us these past several years -- and to all the incredible folks we interviewed along the way. It was a privilege to share each of their ministry stories. As we shift gears to full-time retirement, we're deeply grateful for our memorable & meaningful TrenPam Communications ministry years!

Great week at my farewell meeting with the Association of State Baptist Publications in Clearwater Beach, FL. My ASBP colleagues surprised me in the final session with a resolution of appreciation for my 40-plus years of ministry in Christian journalism and communications -- very humbling and affirming!

Fun for TrenPam to be featured with our grandkids (and their parents) in a photo highlighting Grandparents Day (Sept. 8 ) in the latest issue of The Baptist Paper. Thanks to Editor Jennifer Rash and the TBP team for the shout out!

Grandparents Day falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day. This year it will be Sept. 8.

Okay, here's one more shout out to the very talented Pam Henderson as awards season wraps up. Congrats to Pam for earning a national Award of Merit for video documentary from Associated Church Press for her compelling coverage of "Man Cave Ministry: Hope, help & healing."

ACP is a major Christian communications group that includes Baptists, Catholics, Lutherans, Presbyterians, ecumenical orgs, etc. -- so kind of a big deal! So proud of Pam for being recognized for her videography and video production skills by professional peers across the nation.

Congrats also to our colleagues at TAB Media Group and The Baptist Paper for earning a total of 12 ACP awards this year in several categories (in-depth reporting, design, website and overall publication). Yay, team!

Grateful to Baptist Communicators Association for honoring our work with a national 1st place award in the category of Mixed Media Coverage (article, photos & video). We enjoyed highlighting Fellowship CrossPoint Church's "Sports with a Twist" community ministry and strategic kids discipleship efforts.

It was especially fun for TrenPam to earn a shared award for coverage from our recent travels on behalf of The Baptist Paper!

Pam and I were pleased to receive three Baptist Communicators Association national awards on behalf of The Baptist Paper at BCA's annual Wilmer C. Fields Awards banquet last night in Richmond, VA. Congrats also to our TAB Media colleagues who earned an additional 10 BCA awards for a grand total of 13. Fun and affirming evening!
