Sharing my first thoughts on the meta after reading the patch and trying it out myself.
Note: This are mostly my thoughts that can and will affect the pro meta scene. Maybe a little bit on ranked.
1. Farmlaners melt heroes easily on this patch (including tanks)
- With the recent changes on all of the farmlaners after the patch, there is already too much damage with the the farm laners other than the nerfed ones (e.g. Hou yi). I think, marco polo and renjie will be top priorities this coming pro leagues and there is a chance for heroes like luara, erin and meng ya to be top contenders as well. Ao yin and Arli are still viable but will be less prioritized
2. Tanks/CC/utility heroes are almost necessary in a draft
- connected to the first point. Since there is so much damage on the farm lane, fighter heroes like charlotte and mayene will be less popular. Utility/Tank heroes on the clash lane like guan yu, biron, dharma will still remain relevant. This is due to the changes on active items that you can use simultaneously and does not share cd anymore. Also Mi yue is very strong this meta on the clash lane. Bai qi will also be relevant
3. Heroes who can dive the back lane (esp. the farmlane) will be more sought after
- feyd, luna, musa, nezha and similar heroes who can immediately dive the back lanes will be on the rise due to the demand to kill the enemy's farmlaner as fast as possible.
4. Athena is better on this patch
- goodbye athena strat on pro. The hero is better on this patch with additional saving mechanic. Need to practice it though.
So far, eto na muna. Again these are initial thoughts as an Analyst. will release more contents once I try more things pa tungkol dito sa new patch. What are your thoughts? share nyo naman sa comment section.
