Ahead of his upcoming exhibition at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, which launches this September, Ryan Preciado speaks with rafa esparza () about the influences behind his art, from the acrylics of LA car culture to the colours of Memphis design. His furniture pieces and more abstract sculptures bring these references together through the act of ‘listening’, a kind of openness to being moved by the world around him.

Expect a ‘House Party Playlist’ packed with tracks that inspired his albums, plus a short film screening of a studio session with Deaton, directed by Michael Cukr () and backed by an original song that now doubles as the new Apartamento theme.

As always: drinks, bites, and copies of the magazine for sale (ahead of the worldwide launch!), and we’ll be giving away a few exclusive cover posters to our friends on our home turf.

Peter Shire’s () homecoming was nothing short of a blast, starting with our book signing yesterday in anticipation of our newest release, ‘Peter Shire’s Grand Tour’—a visual journey through the iconic decade of Memphis, seen through the candid lens of Peter’s camera roll. Campania: Recipes & Wanderings Across Italy’s Polychromatic Coast OUT NOW!

Welcome to Campania, where sunlit terraces give way to lemon groves, and Naples’ narrow streets spill into cliffside towns. In the third volume of Recipes & Wanderings, a collaboration between Apartamento and Belmond (), we trace the dreamscape of its coastline, capturing technicolour portraits and culinary insights highlighting the region’s star staples—ancient olive groves, artisanal pasta, and handcrafted mozzarella, balanced by the tang of lemon and the richness of the sea.

For Apartamento issue #34, Ben Rivers () interviewed and photographed painter Rose Wylie, capturing an intimate portrait of the artist within the warm embrace of her Kent home. One of the two upstairs bedrooms has served as her studio for decades, with layers of paint built up like strata, the low ceiling governing the height of all of Rose’s canvases. Outside, her garden is intentionally overgrown.

From Lilith to Wittgenstein to Attenborough’s Planet Earth, the two pull at the threads of Rose’s practice, which—despite her growing acclaim—remains entirely tethered to her sense of self. Shaped by her curious, roving mind, it is a process of collecting and uncovering images within images, wherever they might appear—whether in Orson Welles’ Macbeth or the head of a cabbage.
