Widespread showers and storms are expected again today across west central and southwest Florida, with the highest rain chances in the afternoon and early evening hours. This heavy rainfall brings a marginal chance of flooding occurring in areas with the heaviest rain. Remember to never drive through flood waters.

NUMBER OF DAYS AT 100°! 🥵 Despite Florida's hot reputation, you may be surprised to find out it rarely hits air temps of 100° for most of the state. The reason? Water surrounding the Peninsula and high humidity, which on the flip side increases how it feels! Humid air takes a lot more energy to heat up than dry air. Below features the number of days each location has reached 100° since 1895.

: Tampa just broke their all-time hottest temperature today, reaching 100° for the first time. Official data for the city goes all the way back to 1890 (135 years).
