J.J. Spaun’s U.S. Open Winning WITB is one of my favorites in recent memory- Here’s what stands out:

• L.A.B. Golf gets their first (non-senior) major win
• Titleist GT driver gets its first major win
• Taylormade fairways continue to dominate
• 3(!) Different models of Cleveland wedges

What do you guys think of JJ’s Bag? Would you game this setup?

Honestly… Wilson is probably making the most under appreciated irons in the game right now — and it’s about time we stop sleeping on them.

Design elements I’m a fan of:

• Fluid feel hosel + toe weighting pushes CG a lot more central than other OEM blades.
• Cambered sole makes these far more playable in terms of strike height consistency.
• Shape + offset is very well proportioned through the set.

Also, considering it’s major week, interesting reminder that Gary Woodland has Wilson’s last major win at the 2019 U.S. Open. And it may be hard to believe, but Wilson irons still have more majors than any other OEM with 62 total.

What’s your guys’ take on the Staff Model lineup? Are there any other irons flying under the radar right now?

Taylormade just released their latest, limited edition, “Designer Series” Qi35 drivers and it got me thinking back through of some of their best limited driver drops of all time…

For me, the 2024 Qi10 x Kith collab sits alone at the top, but which release is your favorite?

The blade vs. cavity back debate is one that continues to be on my mind - especially with the run Scottie Scheffler is on right now…

I’ve always felt the best iron players in history have traditionally been blade guys (Tiger, Scottie, Moe, etc.) But if you look at the top of the Strokes Gained: Approach category on the PGA Tour, there’s usually a very healthy mix of both blades and CBs.

All that said, not a single player on this list is using a true, one-piece, blade 4-iron. Everyone seems to see the benefits of going with some sort of tech down low.

So where do you guys stand? Full blade purist? Combo set? Or all-in on CBs?

Taylormade introduced their latest Milled Grind Prototype (Presumably MG5) wedges this week at the Memorial Tournament and here’s how they stack to the current MG4…

Main things I’m noticing:

• Slightly more rounded shaping in the MG5
• Potentially a slightly lower CG (Based on design of back cavity)
• Different face tread pattern

According to we may be getting two new grinds as well (see last slide)

Should have more information on these over the coming months, but would love to know what everyone thinks so far…

Ping, Cobra and Mizuno are all seemingly getting ready to drop some new golf clubs in 2025…

• Mizuno has traditionally brought woods out for tour seeding around the Open Championship in July, so my guess is they are finalizing prototypes to be ready for this timeframe. (Hard to tell but likely a size difference between the 131/132 models, possibly 440/460CC heads).

• Cobra has not officially confirmed they will release a mini-driver, but considering the change in name/graphics a release seems imminent in late 2025.

• Ping looks to be potentially replacing their current iCrossover with a new, non-adjustable, forged model. (Assuming they will do this to better fit in with the Blueprint iron line).

The new Mizuno D131/132 driver looks very interesting to me as they’ve really stepped up their woods game over the last few years; But curious to know which of these you guys are most intrigued by.

This week, Titleist finally announced their newest T-Series irons and I have some quick observations so far…

- T100/T150

• Both models now feature trail edge relief (potentially a very slight lead edge bevel as well, but very difficult to discern)

• Soles appear to *potentially* be thinner compared to 2023 model

• Looks as if there is more space between the lead edge and first groove of both models

• Rumor is 2025 T100 may come stock at 33° (7i), but this is not confirmed

- T250

• Appears to have a slightly longer blade length compared to the current T200

• Potentially a slightly wider sole as well, but with the addition of trail edge relief

- U•505

• 3i - Seems as if Titleist designed this mainly off of the prototype 2023 T350 Utility model that has floated around in some tour bags (most notably Will Zalatoris)

• 1i - Very pronounced lead edge bevel here and also interesting that Titleist seems to be pretty aggressively staggering the sole widths of the varying lofts

I think they look phenomenal so far and excited to test them here soon, would love to know what you guys think so far…
