Was digging through my old video ipod. Came across a single video stored and lo and behold it was the Date My Avatar music video from The Guild web series. Still a banger in my opinion!

Thus prompted a deep dive into old Comic Con pictures from 2009 at an afterparty with the guys from the Totally Rad Show and actors from The Guild.

Ah the memories.... 😍

If you need a fantastic lunch spot in Palm Springs, this is it! My favorite vendor from has a brick and mortar location with excellent Venezuelan eats six days a week.

My favorites are the shredded chicken empanada and the ground beef pastelitos. So much so, I never walk away with less than a dozen to take home.

Now that they have a restaurant, the owners have expanded their offerings so I stopped by and took a tour of their menu beyond what they serve up at the market.

Whats not pictured are the empanadas, pastelitos, aprepas, and patacones that we ate, we were too hungry and loving the food to stop for pics. We were not disappointed!

Support local business and try something beyond what you can get in a drive thru.

An awesome weekend at the music festival in Las Vegas this weekend. The lineup was killer and I loved each act, we arrived early to see both full lineups and we weren't disappointed.

While on the second day we lost a teenager to more fun opportunities with her mum and sister on the strip (with promises of A/C), we gained a few more in our festival family and sat with folks we met on night one!

Amazing sound, friendly staff, great vendors and an amazing lineup - I'd definitely recommend this location to anyone wanting to take in live country music. I have a few new artists/bands on my must see when on tour list!

My favorite non music takeaways: chatting with at their booth, noshing on both nights - that was some dang good BBQ, dancing and meeting new festival family in the crowd, learning about the memorial for Route 91 victims and talking with the awesome ladies staffing their fundraising booth.

High points:
🌟We got in and out of parking in less than ten minutes
🌟 No wait to go through security/entry
🌟 Bathrooms were decently accessible throughout the grounds and rarely a wait, plus lighting at night and lots of handwash stations 👏🏼
🌟 Event staff were all friendly and well organized
🌟 Event safety and security was on point, lots of security and police on patrols in the venue, plus a very visible presence outside on the ground, in the air, and on watch from above from behind the stage. Unsettling for some, but a welcome sight

My only notes for event staff:
⛔ Need more accessible hydration stations - having to trek off to the boonies in high temps was no bueno. The picky ones in our group would go so far as to say they should be filtered 🙊💦
⛔ More drink offerings at the bars - no ability to make a margarita at a summer festival is scandalous!
⛔ Vetting food vendors a bit more, saw some unhappy customers with severely overpriced and undercooked food, we all know festival eats are expensive, but some of these prices were nuts and to be let down with the result is harder to stomach. I chose wisely for my meals, but definitely saw some disappointed folks walk away from some trucks...😬

I'm woefully late in reading my new cookbook from the effervescent .

While this weekend marked the end of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, I'm determined in the future to be more educated, mindful, and supportive of friends, colleagues, and community members who fast for their religious practice.

The world is stronger when we understand our common values while still celebrating our diversity.

Extremely proud of my cousin whose art is now up for display at Marche Atwater in Montreal.

Her art is exceptional! Glad to see it on public display and gaining support in galleries both in the US and Canada.

While at Pear Harbor, we toured the USS Bowfin. It was much more spacious to the HMAS Onslow I toured the week before in Sydney. Though both submarines are similar in length (Bowfin 311ft to Onslow's 295ft) and beam (Bowfin 27ft, Onslow 26ft)

Bowfin's compliment was 10 officers, 70 enlisted to Onslow's 8 officers, 56 sailors. I assume the internal layout and structure was different to best suit the technology and armament for each of the ships.

Both ships were diesel generated with electric motors running off batteries while at depth. They were decommissioned and turned into museums when they were no longer useful to their respective Navys the Bowfin in the 1979 and the Onslow in 1999.

The was also a submarine museum at the national park, so you could see the evolution of nuclear subs in the navy fleet which was terribly interesting.

On Thursday the 17th, joined by my mum and godmother, I spent the day touring around Pearl Harbor.

Our first stop was the USS Arizona memorial.

A very special trip this time, to honor our dear friend Georgia's stepfather Ken Edmondson who was a survivor from the bombing. He was later honored at the memorial when his cremains were returned to his brothers and he was interred in the ship on the 64th anniversary of the attack in 2005.

We released orchids, with one for Georgia, over the wreckage to honor Ken and his shipmates, and all the men and women on the island who sacrificed so much on that day...

A very somber and moving time to be there and think on all the lives trapped below and how many men who survived who asked to be returned to the ship.

Loved the beautiful for it's great staff, beautiful grounds, shave ice by the pool, and all the live music, along with the occasional auntie jumping in to perform a hula. Really a special place in the bustling tourist zone where you could stop and relax and slow things down.

Landed in Honolulu and headed straight to the hotel to meet up with and and was greeted by the most epic balcony view!

We walked around, did a little shopping, and I got my iced tea fix in. Had to hit up the ABC store right away as well! We got all the snacks!

Bear was reunited with his baby bear brother and they got to enjoy some beach time though they complained about the cramped waterproof safety pouch.

I've included the first night's photography study of sunset, full moon, and sunrise over Diamond Head from our room. It was such a (rare) treat to be on the water in Waikiki while staying at the

For the record....
I did not burn the house down. Be proud of me.

Before I left Tasmania, I was greeted by this mother*$! #@* of a spider. It was about as big as my palm!

This sucker was just inches away from where I killed the wee spider the night before, I assume it came for me to avenge it's baby brothers death.

Before I became a plot point in Arachnophobia II or demolished and 's beautiful home, I shut the bathroom door and evacuated that side of the house. I left it for Andrew to bravely handle with bug spray 😂😭😅
