Josh has applied for hundreds of jobs over the last couple of years. And, like many young people across the country, has had no success.

It’s a story that will be familiar to thousands of young people up and down the country. Fortunately for Josh, he did not have to tackle the systemic barriers alone.

Youth homelessness charity Centrepoint helped it find work experience and employment as a barista. He now dreams of starting his own business in the future.

Sir Michael Palin has stepped in at the last minute to support a Centrepoint fundraiser, helping to save the event.

When organisers were left without a centrepiece auction item just days before the event, he donated a two signed eggs, alongside a double egg cup and framed picture. The items sold for £100, supporting Centrepoint’s work with young people experiencing homelessness.

A long-time supporter of the charity, Sir Michael also highlighted the importance of helping young people rebuild their lives through Centrepoint’s vital services.

Ben’s journey from housing instability to becoming a college lecturer shows the lasting impact that consistent support and determination can have on a young person’s life. After years of uncertainty and moving between temporary accommodation, he was supported by leading youth homelessness charity, Centrepoint, to rebuild his confidence, recognise his potential and find a new direction.

Now a father and lecturer, Ben uses his own experiences to guide and encourage others facing challenges, proving that with the right help, it is possible to overcome adversity and build a stable, fulfilling future.
