WIFT TEXAS ANNOUNCES RENAE TREVIÑO AS HOST OF THE 2nd ANNUAL CELESTIAL AWARDS™

SAN ANTONIO, April 18, 2025 – Today, Women in Film & Television Texas (WIFT Texas) revealed the location, dates, and host of its 2nd annual The Celestial Awards™ honoring women of achievement in the Media & Entertainment industry. The awards show will take place on Saturday, January 17th, at The Tobin Center’s world-class H-E-B Performance Hall in downtown San Antonio, following the Texas Media+Entertainment Summit on January 15th and 16th, also located at The Tobin Center. The highly produced and entertaining awards show will be hosted by actress and producer Renae Treviño, who was honored with The Celestial Award for Excellence in Theatrical & Comedy in November 2024.

Dr. Susan Blackwood served as the executive director of the San Antonio Sports Foundation from 1996 to 2013, where she made a profound impact on the local sports community and the State of Texas. Under her leadership, San Antonio hosted five NCAA Men’s and Women’s Final Fours and two NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championships. Her efforts not only boosted local youth participation in community sports programs but also significantly expanded the foundation’s annual budget. Our founder and native-Texan, Ceslie Armstrong, is an award-winning journalist and producer who spent over 20 years working in media, entertainment and hospitality in NYC and LA. She is recognized by the State of Texas with a Senate Bill honoring her for her excellence in journalism and contribution to the Texas Hill Country. Learning to cook at a young age alongside her southern-raised grandmother in San Antonio and classically French trained aunt in Acapulco, she began working in restaurants at age 15; cooked and sang for her supper to get through college; then continued her career in hospitality as a restaurateur and consultant. She has hosted celebrities, world leaders, chefs, artists, business icons, and according to Ceslie, “the most interesting people are locals who make our world better each day.” Ask her what she does now and you'll hear, "I make food and entertainment that makes people feel good!"
